Turn Up The Sound
"A buzzed up mess of influences, with the intensity of William and some intriguing shades of abrasiveness-the shouted verses and falsetto moments definitely stand out…"
- Subba-cultcha.com review of Violent Eyes
"Overreact" are a three piece band made up of Marcus Gilbert (Vocals/Guitar), Luca Cicero (Bass) and Mike Harris (Drums), their brand of punk builds from the start and as the show picks up pace, more and more of the audience are pulled away from the bar to listen and dance. Their impressive single "Violent Eyes" which has recently been played by Radio 1 shows great maturity for such a young band, punk with a dance element. "Overreact" have masses of energy and are dashing all over the stage during the set and evening completing the tricky duel mid air jump while still playing their guitars. These guys certainly know how to entertain an audience and I'm sure earn themselves a few new fans tonight.

"There seem to be more and more indie bands rolling around the music scene at the minute so it is a little refreshing when a band adds a touch of something different to the sounds they are creating. When singer/guitarist Marcus, bass player Luca and drummer Mike placed foundations in Overreact a year ago, they created a sound that mixes indie vibes with a slash of punk styling to create something different. This is just the beginning of Overreact"
- RoomThirteen.com review of Violent Eyes
'Violent Eyes' by Overreact has a charmingly loose feel, the kind of sound that would sound great on vinyl. The guitars make no mistakes, but they've not gone overboard on the overdubs, so when they rake up to add some colour to the chords, there's a sparse feel to them. Similarly, the vocal drifts in and out with the suggestion that the singer is moving about a bit.
If the rawness of the recording is endearing, then the songs are real deal-makers. There's plenty of substance in both tracks, with 'She Said' adding some more angular tones to the record.
This record is a little like an angsty version of One Night Only and it sounds great. 4.5/5
