Overtime Theater's Blurbs

About me:
The Overtime Theater is dedicated to original new plays and new adaptations of old works. The Overtime Theater also is a local headquarters for the Altered Art Movement, which basically means making art out of found objects, fabric, and paper ephemera. Clothing, paper art, fabric art, and much more will be sold in our lobby, on our web site, and be presented on our stage. The Art Boss is Rebecca Coffey.

Who I'd like to meet:

We are trying something new but accessible and enjoyable for the average citizen of San Antonio. We don't care what the theater fashion is in New York or L.A., but look to stage works that are either original or newly adapted from classics and other media.

Black Light Art Party @ The Calcasieu Gallery, July 4th The Calcasieu Gallery, a newly opened art space located on Broadway in Downtown San Antonio will have its grand opening art extravaganza July 4^th, 2009. The Calcasieu Gallery will hold the exhibit in time for the holiday weekend and will commemorate Contemporary Art Month in San Antonio. The Calcasieu Apartments, under new management, will open the space beneath the apartments for this one night spectacular. New work from artists Ernest Vidal, Gil Casares & Michael Casares will be on display. The event will be a black light exhibit and the third year for the Black Light Art Party, a moniker birthed at the late, great Ruta Maya Riverwalk. This year’s exhibit will follow themes of the Fourth of July holiday as well experimental, abstract, 3-D & contemporary art. Live music by local bands The Musikbox, Sachsen Apocalypse & more! The event begins at 7 PM & is free. (byob). DJ FELL spins! The lights go on when the sun goes down! Be there!
