My names Owen, my friends call me Owen. Alright you got me ... I dont really have friends .... BUT ... iF i did they would no doubt call me Owen. Im glad we covered that.
I spent 6 years at Uni and got a Masters in I.T. just to turn around and realize ... WHAT ... I am not for work ... I will end up sitting in a corner rocking myself mental and staring at the same wall.
I started out writing songs in my room at Uni in 1997, a fine vintage if I remember.... What I really want to do, is to write good songs that people like. Being a songwriter sounds like the perfect way to try and forge a living If it can be done ... it shall be done.<
Im 27 and from Belfast Northern Ireland. Im in a band called The Delawares (www.myspace.com/thedelawares) at the moment which is a real blast and a real pleasure as we have quite a nice sound blooming now. Check it out if you have the time.
I also play solo gigs with various people. Caoimhe Mcalister and Una Monnahan are the two most frequent members. Unfotunatley Caoimhe is off in France teaching and having a blast so she is unavailable. Its a pitty, she has the most beatiful voice IN THE WORLD! I am currently preparing to play a couple of gigs with my sister maeve 'aretha Franklin' Lamont and Katie from the band.
Dont worry though readers, despite what seems like a hectic life schedule ... I still find time to do allot of sleeping (prasie be Allah) and allot of chillin, relaxing, maxing ... I know you feel that.
I hope you all enjoy the songs that I have written and recorded and stuck up here. If you have the time, leave me a comment and let me know what you think ... critisism welcomed and required.
Keep er lit one and all, and keep smiling, someone could be looking
Think me, Gerry and probably Kieran have alreay mentioned this but:
We're doing 'Scratch My Demo' on Teusday evening at the Oh Yeah Centre. basically we'll be playing some new tunes live, and the idea is we discuss it with the audience. And discuss other things like where we should be aiming for, image, the works. Would be great if you could get down and give some honest feedback.
Hi Owen, how's it going? Hope you're enjoying the summer. Just to let you know about my new band's gig in The Rotterdam next Sunday 31st, all the best, Dave
