Plans are underway for the 2nd Oxford's Town BBQ Throwdown to be held October 24-25, 2008. In it's inaugural year, 40 teams competed for over $18,000 in cash and prizes and a chance to represent Oxford in the 2008 Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest. At the 2008 Oxford's Town BBQ Throwodwn, teams will compete for almost $20,000 in cash and prizes and a chance to represent Oxford in the 2009 Memphis BBQ Network Championship.
Never competed before, but you think you have the best ribs or butt? Come join the Patio Porkers as they compete amongst each other in the amateur division.
Not a cook? There will be fun for the whole family with live entertainment and a carnival. A variety of vendors will also be selling their wares. Along side the vendors, sponsors will enjoy space to promote their products and services and there will be food and drink concessions as well.
