The OFG consists of over 20 fiddle players ranging from players with few years experience through to music teachers. Our performances are tight and always fun. We are keen to promote our own local musical heritage, so our repertoire includes tunes from Oxfordshire such as 'Old Tom of Oxford' and '(Abingdon) Princess Royal'. We also perform tunes from elsewhere in the UK - such as some great Scottish marches and reels. We also play some classic fiddle tunes from Ireland and The USA. Our tunes can be foot-tapping jigs and reels, or catchy hornpipes and marches, or beautiful slow airs and laments. We have performed at various venues around Oxfordshire as well as an annual trip to Ireland where we have performed at the The Kilcrohane Music Festival in County Cork.
