Here's a video that was captured of me offering my bottleneck slide interpretation of an old blues song, Goin' T' Brownsville, on open mic night at Old Strokers in Everett, WA. It starts out with me briefly introducing my homemade "Nobro" resophonic guitar and explaining some of the various recycled garage sale junk that I used in it's construction. Enjoy!
Thanks for your friendship and supporting our music!
With a diverse array of influences, Seattle-based Shai PoeNt (lyricist) and Vanessa Stone (vocalist), cogitatively expand the canon of their artistic liberation. Drawn to hip-hop, jazz, rock, funk, house, and trance, the duo deliberately tease out every strand of their experiences and turns them into something others can relate to. www.thisisserel.com
For those who haven't heard, we'll be in the studio these next few months to record a new album with the renowned reggae singer, Eyon Irie. After that it's summer shows and writing songs for the next Orbits album!
In the meantime, if you don't have our self-titled cd yet, you can still pick it up on CD Baby and Itunes. Or you can get it and other Orbits gear directly from us here:
And swing by our myspace site to check out our new videos!
SR9 Letter to Cheech Marin: Dear Cheech, Thank you for showing interest in our band SR9 and our Label "Fully Wrecked". I am especially proud you liked the Hollow Mix B on reverbnation. While we appreciate that you "loved us" and "want to hear more in person" we are not doing any gigs in Los Angeles currently. We (and I think I speak for all the guys) also don't (how did you put it )"Swing your way" like you were asking (well maybe John does) but thanks for saying you think we are "4 hot boys" anyway. If you like you can come up to our show in Snohomish Washington and give a listen. Maybe Chong would even ride up with you! Don't forget to appoint a designated driver like maybe Strawberry isn't doing anything that night.
Get drunk, tip heavily, compliment the band and get in a fight! Sincerely, Marc and the guys from SR9

It is that time again!!! This is a reminder to mark your calendar and come and see my band in Everett. For all of you South Enders this is probably as close as we are going to get!!! If you have seen my band you know what a fun time you are in for, if you haven’t we play a mix of Classic Rock to Hard Rock Covers and some original material too. Everything from Alice In Chains to ZZ Top for the A-Z. Oldies and newbies to please all of you rock and roll lovers. The early sets are soft and getting more rockin’ as the night goes on. If you follow the link below there is a partial list (we’re always learning more!) of material we perform. It would be so nice to see some of you there! Start time is 9:00pm but get there a little early to get a good seat as whenever we play seating is limited! So appoint a designated driver, schedule a babysitter, invite all your friends and get down for some good old fashioned fun. ;^)

In early October I wrote one of my latest songs called, “Wall Street Bail Out Blues.” Within four days of writing it, a video crew captured me playing it on the street at Seattle’s Pike Place Market and posted their video on YouTube. That video has now reached the attention of a writer for The Wall Street Journal who is writing an article about those who have written songs about our tough economic times. His article will be published this week and I’m excited to read it.
Who knows where this might lead? Call me an optimist but I have a feeling that this could mean that a few more seconds of that elusive fifteen minutes of fame might be coming my way.
It ain’t the cover of the Rolling Stone but it’s not every day that a writer from a major worldwide news outlet seeks me out to talk to me about my songwriting. That’s a huge validation of my efforts at staying true to my vision. I must be doing something right.
Happy New Year Friends!!! Hope all is well and you are recovered from the massive snow we had here in the NW. Some of us loved it but we are definitely ready for it to disappear. Anyhow the band and I are doing another show in Snohomish Saturday January 10th at Stewarts Place and Hope you can come down and say hi, enjoy your favorite beverage and listen to my brother Joel (Gog) and I play some of our favorite tunes. Th venue is larger than the last one and will be lots of fun. Stewarts Place 709 1st Street Snohomish WA 98290
