About me:
OXJAM CAMBRIDGE 2007 Is coming! In October Oxjam will be running at a venue in Cambridge in conjunction with hundreds of other events nationwide all with one major aim...TO MAKE MUSIC-TO RAISE MONEY-TO END POVERTY...Secondary to that, we believe that Cambridge has the foundations and potential for a thriving, youthful, raw music scene. The gig which will showcase some of the best bands/artists from in and around Cambridge will fuel a simmering scene that is just waiting to boil over. Ultimately we are trying to put Cambridge on the music map and whilst the University is the heartbeat of the city..The music scene has the potential to be the soul of the city.
Who I'd like to meet: Local Cambridge bands with passion for what they do. Please get in contact if you are interested in playing the OXJAM CAMBRIDGE gig OxjamCambridge@hotmail.co.uk
Oxjam kicks off on the 1st of APRIL 2008 (no joke!) and continues for the whole rocking month.
So whatever music you're into, from folk to funk, rock to rave we hope that you’ll want to take part in Oxjam in April and organise a music event (it doesn’t matter how small) to raise money and help end poverty with Oxjam. It’s really easy and fun to do. You can download a toolkit and loads of other online resources, and get in touch with the Oxjam Team at www.oxfam.org.uk/oxjam.
Oxjam's been amazing for us - but how did it go for you? Where do you see Oxjam going in the future? Only with your input can we move Oxjam up a gear – so CLICK HERE to take part in the survey today
Indulge yourself in a guilty pleasure. Take the survey and you'll get the chance to win Take That tickets. They are playing at the O2 Arena in London on the 1st of December. Bet you can't wait to catch an eyeful of those pop heroes in action.
Good luck and thanks!
The Oxjam Team P.S. By providing your email address in the survey you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
Thanks for all your brilliant support in Oxjam 2007, with your help we are able to get closer to overcoming poverty and suffering.
To say thank you we have sent you a little congratulations gold disk. Please feel free to pass it on to Musicians, venues and any others you worked with this year.
We need as many cities as possible to get onboard and run a Buskathon this year. It's simple to setup and free to run, but the best thing is that anyone can signup to play! More info and tips on how to run the event are available here. We've got lots of support to offer and all Buskathons will be promoted throughout the UK.
We've teamed up with our friends at XFM to offer a total of 50,000 big ones to help you put on your Oxjam event this October. We'll be providing 200 Oxjam event organisers with 250 quid each towards the cost of putting on their event, meaning that you'll be able to raise even more to help fight poverty around the world. Even better, the artists who perform at the 200 XFM Oxjam shows will also have the chance to be featured on XFM.
How to apply:
All you have to do is let us know all about the event you're planning here. You can apply until 18 August, at which point we'll get together with XFM and pick out 200 fantastic events that we can help to make even better!
v from whom the funding for this partnership comes, only operate within England, so the XFM offer is open to events taking place in England. If you're from Scotland, Wales or Ireland, though, there are still plenty of reasons to get involved in Oxjam, not least the chance to get the artists who play your event onto MTV - check it out at MTV website..
