Sonny Boy Williamson 1 and Sonny Boy 2. Chester Burnett aka Howling Wolf and Hubert Sumlin and Willie Johnson, Jimmy Rogers, Little Walter Jacobs, Big Walter Horton, Willie Dixon, SP Leary, Freddie Below, Odie Payne, Robert Johnson, Son House, Charley Patton, Robert Jr Lockwood, Honeyboy Edwards, JB Lenoir, Peter Green, Paul Butterfield, James Cotton, there's just too many. And I'd have to mention artists from other genres, and areas.. Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Louis Jordan, Barrelhouse Chuck, the fiddle of Ken Lovelace, and to my own country Norway and Vidar Busk, Knut Reiersrud, etc. There's many more. | | Sounds Like | Barrelhouse piano with vocals. From BoogieWoogie to Rock.. In the style of Otis Spann, Sunnyland Slim, Professor Longhair, Jerry Lee Lewis, Vann Walls, Lafayette Leake, Champion Jack Dupree, Johnny Walker, Little Brother Montgomery, Pinetop Perkins... to the more sophisticated Memphis Slim, Jay McShann, Roosevelt Sykes, Ray Charles and Jimmy Yancey. I also like Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, Thelonious Monk very much. Though they can't be described as blues or barrelhouse pianists. | | Record Label | Usignert |
