OZ has born as Jorge Oliveira's solo project, based on keyboard landscapes and electronic rhythms. Jorge composed several electronic, experimental & ambiental tracks for several years and decided to make an album out of them. Some of those tracks have the magic hands of Paulo Barreto, the long time Jorge's composition companion from their extinguished band - Navajo.
By June 2007 Jorge composed several songs aimed to integrate OZ's album and other tracks were rearranged using the musician's current synths and recording hardware.
In July 2007 David Reis listened to some tracks and transformed them definitively adding great vocal lines, lyrics, guitar tracks and fresh ideas. By then, Mario Amora (In Tempus) contributed with some great guitar solos.
In September 2007 Luiz Ferreira was invited to review all the rhythmic arrangements and embraced the band as their featured drummer and programmer. Paulo Barreto began working on the project bringing new ideas and new guitar textures. The sound becomes richer and mature, and then, the solo project became a collective project.
By now the first OZ album is still being recorded in the "Land of OZ" and Ultrasound Studios with several guest musician appearances. "Voyages" will be released in December 2009 under Ethereal Sound Works label.
