My favorite sports team is the Detroit Tigers! I also root for the Michigan Wolverines football, hockey and baseball teams; the Detroit Red Wings and (shrug) the Detroit Lions, but not nearly with the same excitement, intensity or passion that I save for the Tigers.

I like when pretty girls smile. I like girls who dig baseball and watch to watch some games this season.

I like doing creative things like writing and blogging and messing around with my digital camera. Examples of all abound in this profile.

I like watching live bands, but don't do it as much anymore. More about musical taste below.

I like road trips, with or without cool company, and with cool tunes or good sports talk radio to listen to while I drive.

I like snakes because they are beautiful, fascinating and misunderstood creatures. I used to have a sweet ball python named Alice. Owning another snake is on the future to-do list.

I like the strange dreams I have. Many of them fascinate and entertain me. I like long naps and sleeping in when I can.

I like good tattoos (and feel sorry for people with bad ones). I've got some friends with really cool artwork on their skin. Getting another tatt is on the future to-do list.

I like skydiving, even though I've only done it once. Falling out of another plane is on the future to-do list.

I like wondering if parallel universes are real. If so, I hope the other versions of me in those parallel universes are doing well. That's probably something you don't hear too often from people, is it?

I like exciting thunderstorms. I like hot summers. Winter doesn't bother me, I just don't like it that much.

I like watching cool fireworks displays, and I'm looking forward to seeing some good shows this summer!

I like doing crossword puzzles and playing a few games of Mahjong every online every once in awhile.

I like offbeat senses of humor. I like edgy senses of humor. I even like like some cheezy senses of humor. The geniuses Bill Hicks and Mitch Hedberg make me laugh, and silly pie-in-the-face comedy makes me laugh.

MusicThe History of Rock N' Roll...In Haiku

All-time favorite: DLR-era Van Halen!

Other faves: Alice In Chains (with Layne -- I'm not interested in this watered down revamped version that's out there now), Bon Scott-era AC/DC, '70s Aerosmith, Backyard Babies, Badlands, The Beatles, the original Black Sabbath lineup (but I don't mind the Dio version), The Chelsea Smiles, '70s Alice Cooper, Corrosion Of Conformity, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Danko Jones, The Detroit Cobras, the Doors, pre-self destruction GNR, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Monster Magnet, Motorhead, The Paybacks, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Red Carpet Bombers (best band nobody ever heard of), '60s and '70s Rolling Stones, Social Distortion, Thin Lizzy.

I also like tunes from Chuck Berry, Black Knots, Black Label Society, CKY, Patsy Cline, Clutch, Sam Cooke, The Cult, Danzig, Miles Davis, Diamond Nights, Bo Diddley, Disengage, Fats Domino, Down, Electric Six, Faith No More, Fu Manchu, The Go-Go's, Merle Haggard, Hatebreed, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Heavy Me, The Hellacopters, Buddy Holly, John Lee Hooker, Iron Maiden, Isabelle's Gift, Waylon Jennings, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, George Jones, Kings Of Leon, the Kinks, pre-reunion tour Kiss, Kyuss, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Living Things, Loretta Lynn, Mad Season,

MC5, Morphine, Motley Crue, some old Motown stuff, Willie Nelson, Roy Orbison, Buck Owens, Pantera, The Police, pre-'57 Elvis, Prong, Ramones, Reverend Horton Heat, old Bob Seger, Brian Setzer, Sex Pistols, a little Frank Sinatra here and there, Skid Row, Slayer, Soil, Soundgarden, Sour Jazz, Rick Springfield, The Stooges, System Of A Down, Tool, Type O Negative, Unknown Hinson, Warrior Soul, The White Stripes, White Zombie, Keith Moon-era Who, Hank Williams and Lucinda Williams(among others).

I'm a huge Johnny Cash fan. I enjoy both his music and the story of his life. His music soothes my restless and weary soul. I like both the rebellion and redemption he sings about. I like the spirituality and the storytelling, as well as the humor and humanity in his music. He's just a fascinating character and person, and it's been interesting learning more about the man behind the myth.

Movies Memento, Clerks, Fight Club and The Simpsons Movie are my favorites.

There are still a lot of good movies I haven't seen yet, but I liked Almost Famous, American Psycho, Angel Heart, The Bad News Bears, The Bad News Bears In 'Breaking Training', Batman, Batman Begins, The Big Lebowski, Blue Velvet, Boondock Saints, Bull Durham, Carrie, A Clockwork Orange, Cry-Baby, The Dark Knight, Dazed And Confused, The Devil's Rejects, Donnie Darko, Edward Scissorhands, Eight Men Out, 8mm, The Empire Strikes Back, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fargo, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, For Love Of The Game, Garden State, House Of 1000 Corpses, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, The Machinist, Major League, Mallrats, Miracle,

Monster, Napoleon Dynamite, National Lampoon's Vacation, Night Of The Living Dead, The Notebook, Office Space, Psycho, Pulp Fiction, Pump Up The Volume, Raising Arizona, Reservoir Dogs, The Ring, River's Edge, Rock And Roll High School, Rolling Thunder, The Royal Tennenbaums, Seven, The Shawshank Redemption, The Shining, Singles, *61, Slapshot, Sling Blade, Stranger Than Fiction, Talk Radio, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, This Is Spinal Tap, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, The Usual Suspects, V For Vendetta,
and Decasia (which might be the most unique film I've seen).

TelevisionThe Simpsons and The Twilight Zone.

Detroit Tigers baseball, My Name Is Earl, Arrested Development.

Twin Peaks, Batman: The Animated Series, WKRP In Cincinnati, General Hospital and Seinfeld.

Documentaries on sports, music and snakes.

BooksMy favorite book is the dictionary. I read a lot of non-fiction (usually about music or sports, including biographies. I like the 'peek behind the curtain' non-fiction offers.

Fiction-wise, a friend turned me onto author Christopher Moore, whose books are fun and entertaining.

Who Are You?: 101 Ways Of Seeing Yourself and The Artist's Way are a couple interesting books that might teach you something about yourself.

I plan on writing my own book about an aspect of baseball history someday.

HeroesMy family, because they put up with me.

About me:

A lot of people know me as "ozz" or "the o-z-z".

I was born on a Friday the 13th, which explains why my life has been a neverending series of odd and bizarre twists of fate. Sometimes I think I'm a figment of my own imagination.

I wrote about some basic philosophies of life here.

Who I'd like to meet:

The woman who fits the following description: I like cool, affectionate, good looking women; but what I'm looking for goes a lot deeper than that. I want a woman who will be a positive influence and will challenge my mind. She'll inspire me to be the best person I can be, but will accept me for who I am (in spite of all my flaws). She won't be afraid to put me in my place when I get too full of myself. She'll be unique and creative. She'll be passionate about life. A fun sense of humor is essential, and so is a fun sense of adventure. She'll be comfortable with herself and knows what she wants out of life.

Beyond that...

Longtime Tigers stars (and Detroit baseball icons) Alan Trammell and Lou Whitaker.

Broadcasters like the former Tigers radio announcer/icon Ernie Harwell (an influence and hero who I have actually met, but would like to meet again) and his longtime partner in the booth Paul Carey, Casey Kasem (who was also an early influence), Howard Cosell and Jim Rome.

I'd like to meet Matt Groening, Dan Castallaneta, Nancy Cartwright, Harry Shearer, Hank Azaria, Julie Kavner and Yeardley Smith, just to thank them for all the laughs. I'd like to meet Eddie Van Halen to thank him for all the tunes and the joy they've brought for so many years.

It would've been cool to meet Johnny Cash, The Twilight Zone's creator Rod Serling, writer Edgar Allen Poe and artists like Salvador Dali and M.C. Escher, just to see if it would be possible to soak up some of the creativity that was floating around in their heads. Maybe I'll meet them in the afterlife, along with many of the names at the top of my family tree.

LOL - I loved your post on my page! Yes, I've referred to that goal as "The Butt Goal felt round the world". It was kinda deflating to not have the Wings win in Detroit but I'm still thrilled.
I'm smearing the victory all over myself - they're my beloved Red Wings

Yeah Joey Votto an Jay Bruce are the future but we know how the Reds are they'll trade them away just like they did to Josh Hamilton
