PAALMER: Absolutely Rock & Roll
In the raucous, four-on-the-floor tradition of thousands of punk rock bands and singers before him, Paalmer prefers to let their music do the talking, and when Paalmer’s music is speaking, you’d better hold on for a wild ride.
Led by Faabrice Paalmer on vocals, lead guitar Serge Rollant, rhythm guitarist Phill Gilbert, Thierry Maillart on bass and Bruno Randriamanana on drums, Paalmer’s songs are short, loud, rude, aggressive and entirely fun, frenzied and danceable (if you don’t mind the occasional elbow to the eye).
You may be guessing that Paalmer is a punk rock band, and you’d be right. With their energetic, youthful bursts of Ramones-like punk fury, the attitude and knuckle-scraped rawness of The Damned and the tattooed, chain smokin’ in-your-face attack of early Social Distortion, Paalmer – both the front man and the band – are kicking asses and blasting eardrums all across France.
So what are you going to get out of a Paalmer show? They’re not politicians or rock stars. You won’t hear preaching and you won’t see spoiled rich posers out to dupe you out of your money, but what you will get out of a Paalmer show is simple: Paalmer just wants to do their best on stage, to give you a good time and to play “real, wild Rock & Roll with no lies” or hidden agendas.
