Who I'd like to meet: Someone who interests mind, body and spirit. Someone who is intellectual and artistic - or at least able to express themselves - is a definite plus. People into the electronic scene, a la Gibsonian Cyberpunk, hard house, electro, drum and bass, psytrance. Actors, artists and musicians are also extremely cool. Nerds are hot, depending on the kind of nerd. Cute boys are nice too. Someone who goes to a lot of plays and musicals and can discuss. Ditto films, but usually not mainstream ones. We're talking Thank You For Smoking, Life Aquatic, Liquid Sky, Eraserhead, Shortbus, Equus, Frida, the kind of off beat things you usually find dusty in the back of a video store. You know what I'm referring to: the "Art Film".
And, of course, Voodoo Death Monkey. Our movie tastes are similar.

Who'd a thunk it - people might write about our little creative space?!?!
We just posted our second review in our first two weeks of full-time(ish) business! It's in our blog... Which you should really subscribe to... Doctor recommended.
And if you could take a moment and do a couple of simple things - it would help us out immensely! (and cut down on our general spamming & bulletins). PLEASE READ ON...
We have TONS of songs, videos, short films, previews and other things posted around the web for you to enjoy... with literally hundreds of new clips in the works. By simply watching, rating & keeping in touch on those sites (unbelievably enough) you can generate income for the local, indie talent we host in the Cafe. It costs us next to nothing to produce and make available the web media - so we hand the ad revenue from the sites right over to the musicians & performers...
SUPPORT THE ARTS FOR FREE! HERE'S HOW:
If you have a YouTube account (if you don't - get one, they're fun & free): Subscribe, Rate & Add us as a friend at: http://www. youtube. com/miproductions The same goes for MySpace Film (this profile).
Current TV & Current. com... http://current. com/people/jjeziorski (another fun & free profile deal) THIS site is entirely viewer-created content, yes - even the commercials & news - which trickles through to their Cable Network. You watch our stuff there - http://current. com/people/jjeziorski - we get on TV, the local talent featured get $$$ & can afford to play mucho more live events...
...and Erie sounds just a little bit better at night.
Tried that Pop Rocks thing again. One of your best ideas ever. P.S. doing it with a drink that includes cola (Rum & Coke) produces an even bigger bang.
15 Minute Halibut with Avocado Salsa The spicy salsa in this recipe wonderfully complements the flavor of halibut. The avocado adds not only richness but extra nutrition as well.
Prep and Cook Time: 15 minutes Ingredients:
4 6oz halibut steaks or filets ¼ cup minced scallion 1-2 tsp finely minced jalapeno 6 medium cloves garlic, pressed 1 + ¼ cup TBS fresh lemon juice 3 TBS chopped fresh cilantro 8 cherry tomatoes, quartered 1 medium ripe but firm avocado diced in ¼ inch cubes salt and black pepper to taste
Directions: Mix all ingredients except halibut and 1 TBS lemon juice and set aside. Heat a non-stick pan over medium high heat for about 2-3 minutes. Rub halibut with 1TBS lemon juice and season with a little salt and black pepper. Place in hot pan. Cook for about 3 minutes and turn. Cook for another 3 minutes and remove from pan. Place on plate, and top with salsa. Serves 4 Serving Suggestion: Serve with Mexican Corn on the Cob and Green Salad Healthy Cooking Tips:
It is best to choose halibut that is fresh and at least 1 inch thick. Because halibut can become dry when cooked, the thicker cuts help to retain moisture. It's important not to overcook halibut. To check for doneness, insert the tip of a knife into the center. It will flake, but still be moist when it is cooked to perfection. In fact, cook it slightly less than desired doneness, as it continues to cook after removing from the heat. Unlike the other salsas, this one is served with a chunky texture. Chop everything fine except the tomatoes and avocado. If the avocado is very ripe it will make the salsa mushy looking. Choose an avocado that is ripe, yet still a slight firmness. You will have a more attractive salsa.
