The PACIFIC SOUND CHORUS was founded in 1999 when several members of local barbershop choruses in the Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Thousand Oaks came together to sing Christmas songs and go caroling. These men liked the sound so much that they decided to pursue founding of a chapter whose main goals were to be as competitive as possible in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s competition circuit and to pursue excellence in the 4-part a cappella harmony style.
Since the founding of chapter and the chartering in 2000, Pacific Sound Chorus has received many accolades, won several awards and toured both Russia and Ireland. They have been privileged to sing in some of the most beautiful cathedrals in both countries and have served as ambassadors of the barbershop harmony style.
