Paddy Gone Wild plays traditional Celtic Music in a non-traditional way.
The players are:
Tom Muckian (whistle, djembe). In his youth in Ireland Tom studied piano and piano accordion. Don't worry, though, he hasn't touched an accordion in years.
Ruth Muckian (harp). Ruth comes from a musical family in Canada. Having studied piano since age 10, she took up the harp and joined with Tom to form a band called F-Troupe, which eventually morphed into Paddy Gone Wild.
Kevin Felton (fiddle). For many years Kevin has played Celtic festivals around the Dallas metroplex. Kevin brings with him a taste for old-time Appalachian fiddling.
Lala Bellinger (fiddle). At 19 years of age, Lala Bellinger could truly be described as a prodigy in both music and art. She is a favorite with audiences everywhere we play.
Bobby Bush (guitar, vocals). Bobby Bush is arguably a contender for best rhythm guitarist in the Metroplex. His hard driven style gives the music a strong rock-and-roll feel that appeals to audiences of all ages.
Noreen O'Connell (African Conga). We sometimes invite audience members to join us on stage to play the "Paddywhacker" stick. Noreen showed us she could keep a beat and so she graduated to band member on the African Conga. Her steady pounding keeps the band on track, even while we engage in all kinds of silliness.
Music
Some of our favorite groups are, Lunasa, Chieftans, The Bothy Band, and other similiar bands in that style.
