| About Paddy’s Pig |
|
Paddy's Pig is happy to announce we've got a new full-length cd ready for your enjoyment, "Maple & Wire", feature 14 traditional tunes and 2 new originals, "Maple & Wire" and "Ring On a Chain". There was a fabulous cd release show May 3 at the Auld Irisher in the City of Orange!
Bio....
Formed at the curly-tailed end of the twentieth century, southern California-based Paddy’s Pig performs lively renditions of traditional and pseudo-traditional Irish and Celtic music. Their repertoire includes songs, reels, jigs, ballads and drinking songs. They’ve entertained audiences all over southern California, from the Valley’s Ireland’s 32, to L.A.’s Molly Malone’s, to the Irish Fair in Pomona, to Long Beach’s Auld Dubliner, and into Orange County at Sunset Beach’s now-legendary The Irish Mist, Orange's Auld Irisher, among others.
Lead vocalist Gibson is a transplant from Detroit, Michigan, where she performed with the acclaimed Irish group The Geezers. She has brought her striking and distinctive vocal style to southern California, where she met multi-instrumentalist Flanagan (Giant Ant Farm, the Lisa Marr Experiment), southern Californian Beal, and drummer Pipitone, finding a common interest in a fondness for Irish music. American Wake fiddler Robert Keysers and Poxy Boggards member Gerald Wheeler have stopped by to do some merry-making with the group as well, as does the occasional fiddle, bodhran-, drum-, or bucket bass-playing guest.
Equally at home playing barn-burners like “The Blacksmith” and the Pogues’ “Sally MacLennane”, heart-wrenching ballads such as “He Fades Away” and “She Moved Through the Fair”, or classic tunes like “Loch Lomand” and “Whiskey in the Jar”, Paddy’s Pig never fails to get the audience involved, occasionally leaving the stage to do so, blurring the line between audience and performer.
Paddy’s Pig has a 5-song cd available, and a new full-length cd "Maple & Wire".

CELTIC RADIO says:
Paddy's Pig is a traditional Irish and Folk music band from Los Angeles, California. They play traditional Irish tunes with a little bit of humor and lots of energy!
Give a listen to "The Gentleman Soldier"… and I think you will agree that this upbeat, foot stomping song will definitely put a smile on your face (either in the pub or at home!) Paddy's Pig has a great sound which reflects this fine group of musician's abilities with the instruments they play… Take a look at their website and if you live in California, you might be able to attend one of their shows!
more press to come......
