Druid Song
Paul plays a style of music that has become known as “Satirical English Pagan Folk”. Born from his experiences in the wider pagan community and the many characters he has met along the way, he offers some praise, some pokes and some general commentary on the pagan scene.
Originally playing with Tony Lee (now a famous comic book writer www.myspace.com/mrtonylee )in the “ ‘ Astaroth, Astaroth, Astaroth’ Hey, That’s A Good Name For A Band!” Band, Paul moved onto to solo work. Launching his debut CD “Far Better Pagan” at the Pagan Federation National Conference in 2000. Some faces in the audience fell through the floor, others lit up with smiles and laughter. It’s been all go from there.
Paul has released two more CDs; “The Drinking Times” and “Archdruid – Live and Dodgy”. All are available, just send a message. He can be found playing at conferences all around the country, and has not long returned from playing in Arizona, in the USA. He’s most likely to be found around a camp fire. Available for bookings, just drop him a line.
Leading Wiccan, and all round nice bloke, John Belham-Payne ( http://www.twpt.org/payne.htm ) has called Paul his “..own personal hero”. Dahm the Bard has said of Paul “It’s your round, surely?” and Paul Newman (the one who doesn’t make caeser salad dressing)has acknowledge that Paul Mitchell is better looking.
Paul is also involved in the new earthy based folk band Mad Magdalen ( www.myspace.com/madmagdalen ) If you like your folk music traditional and fast, drop him a line. ragingpagan@hotmail.com
