About me:
PAGEONELIT.COM celebrates 10 years online 1996-2006! Number 1 Google Search for Literary Newsletters out of over 5.2000 Million sites Number 4 Google Search for Author Interviews out of over 30 Million sites What people are saying about Pageonelit.com "I'm pleased to tell you that Writer's Digest magazine has selected Page One as one of 'The 101 Best Web Sites for Writers.' The 101 were culled from our staff's lists of favorites, as well as from nominations made by about 1,500 visitors to writersdigest.com. Congratulations. The '101 Best' is the cover story of the May 1999 issue of Writer's Digest. Again, good work on your site. We're happy to recognize the value of PageOne to our audience." Bill Brohaugh--New Media Director Writer's Digest "Page One is jazzy. It's a wonderful newsletter -- one that I'm very proud to be featured in. Thanks so much for the opportunity. " Nora DeLoach, mystery author of "Mama Stalks the Past" & "Mama Rocks the Empty Cradle"
Who I'd like to meet:
"I just took a trip over to your Page One website, and I'm very impressed with the work you've done. You should feel very proud." Hunter Hayes, author of Shoes On the Otha' Foot "Page ONE's timeliness, convenience, and accessibility, all serve to provide a sense of community among writers... Reading interviews with others in the field provides not only useful advice, but also encouragement. I'm glad to hear that Page ONE is growing, and am glad to be a part of it."Michael King, author of the novel Lorienlost "I'm enjoying the newsletter a lot and stealing some of the good quotes for mystery-writer friends! If I come across a really good one I'll send it to you in return!" Elizabeth Daniels Squire, award-winning author of Is There A Dead Man In The House and other mysteries set in North Carolina and Tennessee "I just wanted to let you know that I enjoy reading the interviews with different authors very much. What you send me is extremely useful and the hints I have gathered ... are already showing as I have recently been appointed consulting editor of LIVING 2000. In fact I have sold quite a few articles and short stories to the magazine. Many thanks for helping us out here and for the caring and dedication. God bless you for what you do. May others follow your example. Once again greetings from the island in the sun."Ray Fenech, Malta- Europe "Pageone is a great site. I have linked you to the Wisconsin Regional Writers' Association, Inc. webpage. " Donna Potrykus www.inkwells.net/WRWA "I just finished reading the latest issue of Page ONE. As I wipe the literary crumbs off of my tongue and let out a deep sigh of contentment, I have to say "Thank You" for the time and attention you take in compiling every issue. From your quotes, to exciting and informative interviews, all the way down to the bits of writing wisdom, I'm glued to the screen. I reach the end in disappointment---there's just never enough of Page ONE. Keep up the excellent work and I'll keep reading and suggesting Page ONE to fellow writers and readers." Sincerely, Janelle Gregory, Senior Editor Online Campus Newsletter on AOL

Latest review for DIVERTING THE BUDDHA (The Skewering of Democracy)

“This complex and deftly plotted novel examines a massive assault on a people crying out for democracy. It chronicles a time when American efforts to build democracy produced an apocalyptic disaster. While the author spares none of the grisly details of this repression, his special powers of language also brings his characters and their complex world vividly to life. The story leads its readers inside pagodas, university halls and military posts, all venues with which the novelist is perfectly familiar. The major theme of this novel is betrayal—of democratic aspirations, of the American public, of truth itself.” Historian David Heiser, Citadel Military College Ret.

Hey.

I haven't been by in a while and thought I'd stop in and say hi. It's Monday again. I'm back to work on a new book.

A Demon Awaits will be out on October 14th. I'm excited for the release and waiting for news about the screenplay. If nothing else, the new book will keep my mind off the waiting.

What's happening in your world?
