Paik PAIK (pake) - an old English word meaning a powerful blow to the body, or to pummel. With 10 years out the tailpipe, PAIK continues to pursue their road trip of the cosmos with the release of the 5th full length, Monster of the Absolute, and a 10 year live DVD, entitled Magnesium Fire, both released in summer,2006. The new material finds them at a songwriting high, and exploring fields of radiant, undulating frequencies undiscovered on previous releases. Harkening backwards, they have toured with notables such as Stephen Malkmus, BRMC, Windy&Carl, Subarachnoid Space, and left crowds smiling at CMJ 2004, SXSW 2005, Terrastock 5 2003, Terrastock 6 2006, and the MIT senior steer roast 2006. Countless compilation appearances, a THRASHER MAGAZINE skater of the year DVD score, and split CD with KINSKI, and SURFACE OF ECEON are also to their credit.
