The entity known as Painizart was formed in mid-2001 with Jared (lead guitar/backing vocals) and Justin (lead vocals/rhythm guitar) hooking up with bassist Sean Kirwin and drummer Steven Scheele. Things went good for a while with the band beginning to finish several songs that had been started prior to Sean and Steven joining. Picking the best of those songs our first cd (Stigma) was on the horizon. Several practices and shows later we began to see that Steven was slipping. He no longer played with the passion and proficiency he once exuded. We spoke to Steven about the issue and he assured us that for the time being he was just having some "personal problems". Over the next couple of months his playing would further decline along with him beginning to miss practices. We were willing to work with him through this but his decision to quit the band had already been made. One night he came to pick up his drums to "clean them" and we never heard from him again. Painizart was now in search of a drummer. We auditioned several drummers and none of them worked out. With the thrill of doing our first cd in mind Jared stepped up to the plate and recorded the drum parts along with his guitar parts at then-Z'Gwonth Studios in Lawrence, Kansas. On Friday December 13, 2002 Stigma was released. Soon after auditions to find a drummer resumed. This time they were fruitious. At the reference of a friend we heard about a guy named Cory Schwietzer. We decide to give it a go and he has been with us ever since. Sean was another story all together. Soon after cementing Cory's position in the band Sean decided to leave. Traveling back and forth 3 hours each way the trip to and from Wichita became too much for him. We have yet to find a permanent replacement for him. Painizart is currently working on their self-titled follow up to 2002's Stigma. Painizart currently consists of 3 members.
