Gravitation by sounds, malicious, gloomy, funereal, lugubrious and tormenting like grown out of the depths of Dantes Inferno.
A pulsating and seething wall of sound, gnawing and pounding like a toothache. Merciless riff-attacks, winding like snakes and diving ever-recurring into new rhythmic universes to melt together with.
During the first bars you get the impression as if hell opened up in front of you and you're standing right within the apocalypse.
Painstyle is a progressive, neo-urban death metal nightmare on the other side of the pain barrier!!!

One thing to note:
The songs you can hear on myspace are from our ROUGH DEMO 2008 and the drums were played by our former drummer MARKUS CHRIST!
The new recordings with MARCO MINNEMANN (NECROPHAGIST, KREATOR, PAUL GILBERT) are actually done. We will post a small collection in a very short time...!!!

Gravitation durch Töne, bösartig, düster und beklemmend wie aus dem allertiefsten Punkt von Dantes Inferno herausgewachsen. Eine pulsierende und brodelnde Schallwand, bohrend und hämmernd wie Zahnschmerzen. Gnadenlose Riffattacken, die sich wie Schlangen winden und dabei immer wieder in neue rhythmische Universen abtauchen um mit ihnen zu verschmelzen!
Schon während der ersten Takte hat man den Eindruck, als täte sich vor einem die Hölle auf und man stünde direkt in der Apokalypse!
Painstyle sind ein progressiver, neourbaner Alptraum, -jenseits der Schmerzgrenze!!!

Eine kleine Anmerkung:
Die Songs die ihr derzeit noch hier auf myspace hören könnt, stammen von unserem ROUGH DEMO 2008 und wurden mit unserem früheren Drummer MARKUS CHRIST eingespielt. MARCO MINNEMANN (NECROPHAGIST, KREATOR, PAUL GILBERT) wird erst auf unseren aktuellen Aufnahmen zu hören sein, von denen wir allerdings in Kürze einen kleinen Auszug online stellen werden...!!!

PAINSTYLE was born at the turn of 2005 to 2006. Bandfounder and guitarplayer CHRISTIAN HEIL (JOE) had composed an extensive archive of musical ideas and song structures. At the beginning the biggest problem was to find the perfect line-up to meet the challenges of his complex song-material. He spent a lot of time jamming with different musicians and experimenting with a variety of constellations. Two years later the search was over. This formation played several gigs before it went on producing the infamous Painstyle Rough Demo (2008). For this production JOE invited over his friend BURKHARD SCHMITT of the hannoveranean combo HATE SQUAD to take part in some guest rehearsals in Painstyle headquarters at LANNY'S PIT. The cooperation went off pretty well. BURKHARD's and JOCHEN's voices matched in such an impressive way that only after a short time all members agreed BURKHARD to join the band. In September 2008 Drummer Markus Christ had to leave the band. PAINSTYLE was forced to look for a substitute which was anything but easy. During the next three months the band underwent a nerve-racking process in which they tested a multitude of different drummers from Germany and abroad. Eventually it failed to bring about a new formation. In the fall of 2008, no less a drummer than MARCO MINNEMANN (KREATOR, NECROPHAGIST, EPHEL DUATH, PAUL GILBERT, H-BLOCKX, etc.) stumbled over our search-blog. He liked the music and got into contact with JOE to tell him he was interested in becoming part of the project and to make his contribution. MARCO is a world-class drummer and is surely the best choice for the job. With his incomparable style and his unmatched technical skills he breathed even more life into our songs. We're glad we can count on his support, because we think his playing lifted PAINSTYLE to another level. Meanwhile the band has recorded their first full length IN BLACK DESPAIR, what will be released during the next few months!
