I used to play the drums in a rock band. Now I am making music as a hobby. My own project "pai patiroma" is named after "Hateruma Island", which is located in the southern part of Okinawa, Japan. I was born and raised in Tokyo. But I also love Okinawa where both of my parents came from. I've visited there many many times since my childhood. When I was 20, I lived in Yogyakarta, Indonesia for one year. There I studied anthropology and Indonesian traditional music, Gamelan. After Returning home, I started writing various kinds of music. Some for our vocal project, and the other for our instrumental project. My musical influences range from classical music to jazz music. But the band I was influenced the most was tortoise, so-called "post rock" pioneer. Their music motivated me a lot to write music more individual and original way. A lot of ideas came out by mixing the taste of Okinawan music and Gamelan music with post rock. Here you can listen to other music I wrote.
