Nick and Tim drummed on their desks in Mr. Thompson’s seventh grade math class. They dreamed up bands and esoteric genres while other kids poked at linear equations. Some kids eventually cracked calculus; Nick and Tim invented bands and then destroyed them. Nick dabbled in popular genres; Tim grumbled in microphones and scared children at parks. Nick and Tim joined forces in the metal band, Pushing Up Daisies. Tim scraped terrifying feedback from guitar strings while Nick summoned various booms and clanks from drums. Pushing Up Daisies garnered notoriety around town as a confrontational metal band. Nick and Tim did what they could to destroy it. The other guys wanted metal at its fastest, Nick and Tim wanted B-movie sound effects and Casio keyboards.
Nick studied music in college and created spastic electronic soundscapes. Tim formed Airliner; a celebration of keyboard noise and Latin rhythms. Nick and Tim pined for the serenity of live music in Mr. Thompson’s math class. They conceived a new two-piece live act and named it Palace of Buddies. Nick and Tim made astounding racket with only two men. Stages spilled over with analog synthesizers and smelly old amplifiers. Palace of Buddies lowered its drawbridge and ushered new friends in. They performed music with acts like: Xiu Xiu, Enon, Joggers and Subtle. They made new friends.
Now the buddies prepare for a tour. They pile up effects pedals, cowbells, reverberators, foot organs and sampling devices. They stick price tags on copies of their first full-length album. They seek new friends for their society. They open their doors to everyone.
amazing! i hope you're having a wonderful time. full of magic. your new record is great, by the way. it almost makes up for not ever doing an Airliner record. almost.
