| About Paladin (possible name change) |
For those who don't know what a paladin is, it is someone who fights for a cause. So what are we fighting for? An end to mediocrity and lame music that we hear everyday. Our fight is to put the music first and to write the best material we possibly can. To combine technicality, excellent songwriting, good musicianship, a balance of rhythm and melody, and everything else lacking in music today. If thats what you're looking for then stand by our side in the battle to put an end to lame music.
The entire thing started with Chris, from the previous incarnation of the band, known as Dementia. The band had gone through some problems with members coming and going, and no one quite knowing where they wanted to go. The band's sound was unrefined and they had little to show for their work due to the constant dropping and writing of songs. After their old drummer's departure, Chris had reached out to one of Bud's, their previous bassist, friends who was a drummer, Will Schmuck. Upon a few jam sessions with Will, Chris had also noticed that his brother, Dan, played guitar. It was then that Will, Dan, Bud, and Chris formed the true incarnation of Dementia.
Things went on like this for a while, with them writing new songs, and playing shows around the fort worth area. Until they fell upon the decision to change their name to Paladin, and it was done. Soon after, however, Bud had decided to leave for personal reasons. But a new light shown on the band, as Chris had a good friend of his, a roady of the band's, in fact, who would fill in on bass. Thus Jeremy is now the bass wielding paladin, creating the current incarnation of the band. The band is currently on a show hiatus, for they are working on the most complex and brutal material the band has ever written. They are also in the works on their upcoming album, which is untitled as of now. With Jeremy contributing his own style, given the other's styles mixed, the upcoming album is surely to be a heavy, melodic ride through death's gate and back. Keep in touch, because some great things are going to happen to Paladin, and the guys want you to be there with them!
