is rather chuffed that he ignores updating his blog for months to find 1500 people have checked it out anyway. Ahh... effortless :-)Mood: cheerful at 8:59 PM Jun 2view more
I'm quite old to be starting out on most of my life's enthusiasms, but there you go.
In the near future, I shall be doing architecture, creative fiction and composing music properly.
I have, of course, been doing all three to a certain extent for about twenty years so far...
I love travel. I can't decide if the disasterous holidays make for better memories than the good ones. I'm particularly nostalgic about waking up in the Grand Hotel Pupp (five star, Karlsbad) with a bleeding head...
Music
Alizee: the most gawd-awful lyrics in Christendom sung by one of the world's most beautiful women.
Polish Rock'n'Roll; Camille singing with Nouvelle Vague and her own tune Le Sac des Filles; If Looks Could Kill by Camera Obscura; The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers; Masahide Sakuma's Lisa; Aldo Romano; Mishka Adams; 101 Strings plays 'Night in Vienna'; the opera Sophie's Choice... and ABBA! Cassandra - the finest pop tune ever
Movies
As Good As It Gets;
Daughters of Darkness;
Un Coeur En Hiver;
Marie Baie des Anges: operatically gorgeous celluloid
Television
I turn it on when my attention span is low, so basically anything junky, glamorous, fun;
Oh, and Boston Legal is the best series on television.
In a similar vein:
I believe that if one explores one's mind, one gets to see the rest of the world through a richer array of perceptual channels.
Sometimes I think the world is meaningless and absurd and that makes me want to laugh and have fun with it.
I'm lazy. My ambitions far outstrip my desire to work.
I seek salvation in beauty. Girls are most beautiful of all, but there's also beauty in the discovery of beauty in unexpected places:
even scary, tentacled things seen in delirious nightmares hold a certain power of fascination.
To me, companionship is conversations. Even with dead people. One can listen to Domenico Scarlatti's harpsichord sonatas and know exactly what was going on with this guy's moods c. 300 years ago.

Coil me up inside,
Slow the sands of time,
Reaching out and then,
Feel the Cosmos End,
Surf the winds of change,
Freindship never ends,
The circle remains unbroken,
Weight of words unspoken,
Burden of your sight,
Watching wings take flight,
Of this time transcend,
Lets Restart again,
Lets Restart again

thank you. I hadn't seen any Symbolist paintings until you alerted mr to them (which is awful seeing as my father is a painter). They present exactly the sort of images I am looking to create with my music. I hope you are well.
