The Palatine Poetry Slam was started in 2004 by a Wm Fremd High School Student named Adam Babcock. Our current slam master is Junior Stephen Whitfield. We've been a national competitor several times, but this year (sadly) our team just couldn't make it.
The Palatine Poetry Slam is a place where anyone, regardless of age, sexual orientation, religion, or skin color, can get up on stage and be heard uncensored. The Open Mic portion of each Slam event invites all kinds of performers: musicians, comedians, short story writers, poets, etc. We try our best to bring in quality featured performers from all over the country, and in some cases, from all over the world. Come check us out!
