General
Reading (non-fiction only - weird I know), unschooling sewing, making things out of recycled wool, taking day trips, walking around the lake (2 blocks away), hanging out with friends, TV, movies, tattoos, anything Brasilian, thrift store shopping, going to the theatre, restaurants, hanging out with my kid :) and rearranging my list of movies on Netflix.

Music
Well, I listen to everything besides folk and modern country - yuck! I like cajun/zydeco, reggae, blues, old jazz, oldies from the 40's on back (some 50's), some rap, some hip-hop, bluegrass & americana, disco, and world (except celtic).
Movies
I like foreign movies, independant (although that category is not what it used to be), and twisted stuff. I'm addicted to documentaries and I hate horror movies.
Television
CSI, Shark, The Unit, Law & Order SVU, To catch a predator, Deadwood, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, 30 Rock, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,The Colbert Report, Dave Chappelle and Boston Legal, among others :)
I also like reality TV, although I rarely admit it. Most of the time it's like a car crash - you just can't look away.
Books
I like non-fiction books, and poetry. I also like pretty much any book with great photography and/or art (not modern art too much though).
Heroes
Eleanor Roosevelt, John Holt and my daughter and husband. Kevin and Raven have taught me so much about strength and courage......and unconditional love.

Anyway, I am a stay at home mom. I love being at home with my 12 yr old daughter, Raven. Raven is unschooled so that takes up most of my time. -------------- I have been married for 18 years to an awesome guy, Kevin. -------------
I have always spent a great deal of time volunteering, but since Raven is home now I haven't been doing it as much. That's really the only thing I miss about Raven not being in school.---------------------------------------------------------------

Who I'd like to meet: Well, above all else, Eleanor Roosevelt. Her life is so amazing and the risks she took, she even risked her life for civil rights and for the fight against poverty. I would love to have tea with her. I picture me hanging on her every word. I'm sure that meeting would be life changing. -------------------

Speaking of Billys -- Billy Idol - would love to hear about the early days of punk and what things were like - I bet he has great stories. ------------------
Wyclef Jean - oh man, I love his music and really anything he does. I like everything about him...and I mean everything. I dissaprove of him cutting his dreads off, however - he was more attractive with them. ------------------
Damian Marley - the messages in his music - awesome! Plus it is great for dancing...or anything else :) ------------------------------
Matisyahu - I think he must be very wise - his songs are so positive. --------------
India Arie, of course! She has proven that you can follow your heart and only do truly positive music and still win some Grammys. -------------------
Henry Rollins - The hottest feminist I know - he is an amazing musician and poet. The only turn off is that he isn't really into the family life and doesn't want to ever have kids. ---------------------
Forest Whitaker - Another hot feminist. Everything he does is amazing....and I was into him back in the day, before he won an oscar :)-----------------
Tracey Chapman - She is amazing....even if she does get looked over for not having any ass shakin' videos ;)

Seu Jorge - I'd love to hear what he has to say about the poverty in Brazil and if he really thinks there are any answers to it.....not to mention his music is amazing. I'd also like to hear about his love for Bowie and how that all came about. ----------------------
Eartha Kitt - OK, she'd want to talk over champagne or wine :) I think she'd be a hoot to hang out with. -------------------
I can't think of any more, right this second...and yes, I do realize that several of the people I listed are dead. I meant I'd want to meet them if they were still alive - I'm not that twisted :)
