Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, ACDC, and Beggars Belief Ceilidh Band
Imagine that Rod Evans, the original singer of Deep Purple becomes disillusioned with rock and forms a ceilidh band near Worksop in the darkest depths of North Nottinghamshire.
Michael Howe, the young, impressionable accordionist with that band learns Rod's back catalogue of Purple songs alongside numerous ceilidh dance tunes. Now, 20 years on, he's here to claim his rightful place as part of the Deep Purple family tree. Unable to find a backing band, he turns to his wife and children who accompany him and his ego with their budget folk instruments.
Pale Lilac is an unusual fusion of classic rock and morris. Expect to hear the songs of Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Led Zeppelin, etc. flowing seamlessly into traditional tunes.
Pale Lilac have played some major music festivals over the past 2 years including Solfest (twice!), Burnham Folk Festival, Firefly Eco Festival, Wheaton Aston Festival, Off The Tracks, Southwell Folk Festival, plus numerous arts centres, pubs, folk clubs, galleries, village halls and city streets.
