The Howe Family: Michael: Lead vocals, accordion, bells - Claire: Guitar, backing vocals - James (12): Djembe, cajon - Joel (10): Accordion, ukulele, vocals - Occasionally joined by daughter Nicola on fiddle
Influences
Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, ACDC, and Beggars Belief Ceilidh Band
Imagine that Rod Evans, the original singer of Deep Purple becomes disillusioned with rock and forms a ceilidh band near Rotherham in the darkest depths of South Yorkshire.
Michael Howe, the young, impressionable accordionist with that band learns Rod's back catalogue of Purple songs alongside numerous ceilidh dance tunes. Now, 20 years on, he's here to claim his rightful place as part of the Deep Purple family tree. Unable to find a backing band, he turns to his wife and children who accompany him and his ego with their budget folk instruments.
Pale Lilac is an unusual fusion of classic rock and morris. Expect to hear the songs of Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Led Zeppelin, etc. flowing seamlessly into traditional tunes.
Sorry I am not set up to play live at the momment, maybe in the future, you can download the tunes though just follow the link on the page. ps interesting version of black night I think you are on to a winner with your idea of a family band looks like a lot of fun. all the best G.A.Z.

Good work guys! My daughter is a nine year-old singer and Al (our mando' player) has a ten year-old girl who is learning the fiddle, so it looks like we could be emulating you in the near future! Best wishes from Mark, TPR. (PS - we might get to see you at The Tigers Lair!)
