Join us for the First Friday Arts @ Urban Think! Featuring the mixed media art of Stefan Alexandres. Alexandres says making art is a fundamental evolution in his life. It is an eternal movement towards peace for the understanding of the world and self. Drawing inspiration from history, mythology, folktale, and real life, Stefan powerfully transforms copper into expressions of art. We will also be exhibiting select mixed media works of Dylnn Roll, Palin Perez, Richard T. Reep, Julio Sanchez, Josh Osbourne, Deborah Mangia, Oxheart,Jason Lee, Geman Lemus, Joulia Vitaliy, Todd Murphy and Marsha DeBroske. All art will be on exhibit in Urban Think! through the end of April.

Palin Perez-Jackson
Born 1973 in Cleveland, Ohio, raised in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Palin does not know where this art would take him but he knows where it originated. It’s most obvious influences have been his children, friends and overall environment. Many a few well known period painters and a couple new ones. Music has much to do with the flowing aspect of his work, staring at his style you can sense the jazz, heavy metal, hip hop and salsa rhythms bleeding through the canvas.
His heritage is immersed with the distinguished line of painters and musicians. He simply has continued the tradition of talent within his family tree.
Not only is he a celebrated artist, but also an entrepreneur and a patron of his culture. In 2002 He opened the very first Latino owned and managed Art Gallery in the greater Cleveland metropolitan area, located on the corner of West 45th and Bush Ave.
La Cosecha, the name given to his establishment meaning The Harvest, did well and was well received by the Latino community, famished for a place to showcase their culture and artistic abilities. A year later he moved on to bigger and better things, closing the doors of La Cosecha, much to the dismay of the community and more to the loss of the city. The much needed outlet will always be ensconced upon Palin’s memory and deeply lodged in his heart. It was a period of synchronicity, when the Latino community was looking for an identity and opening the doors to other Latino’s do follow in his footsteps. Palin submits that he gave many artists their first break/show during a time when many were turned away, he states, "Hey someone had too, I mean someone took a chance on me right?"
This trailblazing enterpriser is a professional artist and has been a fulltime artist, if there is such a thing, for about 5 years. Though he has been painting since childhood and had the dexterity to hold a pencil or a paintbrush. Being a self taught artist who has been, in his own words "Very lucky" that he has had the ample opportunities to show with many great artists. Some notable names being: Dana Depew, Bruno Casiano, Gabe Gonzales, Scott Radke and last but not least his very good friend Will “Topiltzin” Sanchez.
"There have been many great artists who I did not mention, but they know who they are………………the real artist has this inbreed confidence about them, almost to the point of arrogance……….This being so, I want to be remembered as a painter, not a Latino painter, nor a Brooklyn/Cleveland painter……………………………….…….. just a great painter……….My art is angry, sexy and funky…….it’s like a punch in the face……I try to fuse hate love, religion and politics with a lil’ bit of poetry and hope…… it looks cool…………. feel me…………………Peace." *******************************************************************************************************
