About Our School

Welcome to the Official Palm Beach Community College MySpace Page!



Palm Beach Community College, Florida’s first public community college, is the largest institution of higher education in Palm Beach County. PBCC serves 49,000 students annually through its bachelor degrees, associate degrees, professional certificates, career and customized training and lifelong learning. The College offers more than 100 programs of study at locations in Lake Worth, Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens and Belle Glade. Palm Beach Community College will become Palm Beach State College in 2010.


Our College has four locations in Lake Worth, Belle Glade, Boca Raton, and Palm Beach Gardens. Enrollment at one campus offers you the chance to attend any class at any campus regardless of where you are mainly enrolled. PBCC also has transfer articulations agreements with state universities. Transfer counselors assist students in applying to these institutions. A Career and Employment Coordinator is available to provide information on jobs and employment.


Lake Worth campus: The Lake Worth campus is the largest and longest established campus (1933). It is the most comprehensive of the PBCC campuses, offering associate degree programs, professional certificates, apprenticeship programs and courses for life-long learning as well as career enhancement.


Belle Glade campus: The Belle Glade campus has been serving residents of the western communities of Palm Beach County since 1972. Guided since 1999 by a consortium of educational, community and civic leaders called the Glades Initiative Partnership Council, the College has expanded general education, occupational training, student services and community outreach to meet the diverse educational needs of the area.


Palm Beach Gardens campus (Eissey Campus): The Palm Beach Gardens campus opened in 1982 as a permanent, full-time facility offering associate in arts and associate in science degrees and certificate programs. Today, PBCC at Palm Beach Gardens offers credit and noncredit courses, programs and workshops to approximately 10,000 students each year.


Boca Raton campus: Boca Raton campus engages students to be in an intellectual environment where exploration is part of learning, where academic discourse is a means of finding answers, and faculty collaboration is a means of approaching teaching as a multidisciplinary mechanism to bring depth and breath to students’ experience.

    ..The past decade has brought life-saving medical advances in the treatment of HIV/AIDS. Unfortunately, this progress comes with a price: a new generation that doesn't know or accept the reality that HIV infection has serious, lifelong consequences... until it's too late. The rate of new HIV infections is skyrocketing, and South Florida leads the nation in new AIDS cases.


    I've joined an exciting effort to address the AIDS crisis in my community. I signed up for Florida AIDS Walk, a 10K walk in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, March 15.
