Q. Please describe the chain of events that lead you to pursuing a career in muisc
A: I discovered I had a natural talent for singing at a very young age. Scored the lead role in my kindergarten play at age 5 (in Monterey CA). First studio recording at age 6 for a children's songs album. Participated in every talent show or performance at my school. Moved to Queretaro, Mexico and Joined my first rock band at 14 and played in nightclubs in Mexico. Moved back to Monterey and won talent awards at Miss Teen California age 17. Sang in bands locally and started song writing age 16 (Monterey, CA)
Minored in Opera at UC Santa Cruz. Went to compete at Talent Rock in FL and was discovered by Sound Management of San Jose. Been working with Sound Management ever since.
Q. How has your music been received?
A: People seem to love my voice. I'm praised after a performance or even just sitting around a campfire singing. I'm my worst critic so I need that reinforcement. I can't hear it enough. Most people tell me they like the songs I write, and that I'm getting better. I have had some pretty good turnouts at my local shows and some real fans. I love being able to rock people's worlds. I hope to get bigger and perform more shows worldwide.
Q. Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
A: Madonna, Depeche Mode, Kylie Minogue, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Gwen Stefani, Marilyn Manson, Bubba Sparxxx, Guns n Roses, Justin Timberlake, Live, Michael Jackson,Oasis, The Verve, DJ Tiesto
Q. Do you prefer a high five or a pound?
A: A high five when something exiting happens, a pound to say goodbye
Q. What are the bomb spots to grub in Santa Cruz?
A: Taqueria Vallarta, Chocolate, Catalyst Pizza
Q. What's your most memorable show so far?
This show I played on the main stage at The Catalyst. Opened for Rebelution and there was a huge crowd that night. Some girl threw her bra down on my back-up singer. It was hilarious. The sound that night was amazing too. I love that club.
Q. Who's your favorite comedian? Jesse as is. is a perfectly suitable answer...wink wink...nudge nudge.
A: Jesse as is, of course. I'm also a HUGE fan or Mitch Hedberg (RIP Mitch)
