Pamela has broadened her horrizons with a brand new set of material. she now plays solo most of the time with her guitar, and a bass ,keys , her voice and a drum machiene, she layers together all these elements live and becomes her own full sounding band, she recorded her first album with some dear friends helping out such as benn ross (the fabulous) and gina burges (gypsophelia) as well as her old friends the museum pieces and the middleclass pushovers and others. she looks forward to broadining her sound further and pushing the envelope to what she as a solo performer is capable of. it is a spectacle not to be missed.
Influences
Pamela considers herself to be influenced by a wide assortment of people. There's David Bowie, "his vocals are amazing and i've loved him for a long time now". Also Lhasa (from montreal), Radiohead, Leonard Cohen, The Cowboy Junkies, Nine Inch Nails, Portis Head, Neil Young, Traditional folk songs, Classical music, Tribal drumming & chanting, The Cure, Patsy Cline, Willy Nelson, Alice Cooper , Robbie Robertson, and the list goes on and on!j-30

When pushed to define her musical stylings, Pamela describes her sound as Organic folk. "It's a little bit folk, with dark undertones, layers and harmonies, as well as a bit of classic rock thrown into the mix with some more experimental stuff involving lighters, matches, growling, feet on carpet, etc. It sounds kind of dark but not in the negative sense."Myspace Backgrounds.. Add to My Profile | More Videos Pamela started performing live in 1994 at coffee houses under the name Lavender. Maturing as an artist Pamela started playing with the Middleclass Pushovers and got a taste for the whole band thing. She considers them all to be "very talented musicians who are great to play with!" They released a self titled debut cd in 2003. During this same time, Pamela started playing with the Museum Pieces utilizing her skills with backup vocals, guitar and bass guitar. This led to the release of Philidelphia, a second album for Tyler Messick but the first album for the Museum Pieces. Now Pamela is breaking new ground, creating her debut full length album PAMELA & THE UNDER WATER featuring collaborations with various local musicians. Pamela feels she has "been blessed with having so many wonderful and talented friends around", and looks forward to what the future may bring. she is about to start recording her second album which is a more focus collection of pop dance folk rock tunes. look for her, shes lurking just beneath the surface. 1st album available at sam the record man and cd plus barrington st. halifax n.s.

Hi Pamela, I really like your music. Thank you for the add :) Take a look at my video of The Writing on the Wall from my acoustic album, Beyond the Blues. Quote from the wall: ‘The wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly’. Thanks again, Steve
