| Pam Napier Uhl: General Info
|
| Member Since | 2/5/2008 | | Band Members | Just me. . . with alot from my family! | | Influences | Influences in music would definitely be the simple, true and strong women in music -- Of course Martina McBride. She just has such a gift. I love songs that tell a story -- Something that builds a picture in your mind. Martina does that -- Dolly Parton, she is a great business woman and what a life she has built for herself. All around something she loves; Music. Patty Loveless and Kathy Mattea. Sticking to good simple music and lyrics. . .
And I think a new influence for me are some of the men of country music. Trace Adkins what a great classic voice but he has a quiet wisdom. He is truly an exceptional man of intergrity. Alan Jackson and George Straight keeping it simple and classic. That is country music -- What a great community of people. | | Sounds Like | I have been compared to Martina -- but I want to be ME -- I have lots of range but there just ain't no twang to my sound | | Record Label | MRC Records | | Type of Label | None |

| About Pam Napier Uhl |
|
One of the most popular female singers of the Shenandoah Valley area, Pam Napier Uhl has entertained audiences with her blend of old and new country, gospel and strong ballad style. Her comparisons to great country music artists, like Martina McBride, have made her popular with all audiences of all ages, but critics agree that she has truly become her own as an artist with her first CD release, Straight Into My Heart.
Born Pamela Aileen Miller in Glen Burnie Maryland in 1964 she spent much of her childhood singing with her parents. Both her parents played and sang, her father played piano by ear but her mother was the accomplished pianist with a great ear for music. They spent many evenings singing at home or any number of church services around the Baltimore suburbs.
When she and her family moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 2001 she rekindled her love of performing country and old gospel music. With a newfound level of confidence (and her husband’s prodding) she began to enjoy modest success with her music career. In 2006 she won the title of Shenandoah Idol, a fund raiser held for the American Cancer Society, earning her some of the best reviews of her career and sparked performances throughout the valley.
This season’s audiences will enjoy favorite selections from Pam’s CD as well as her signature favorites. She is also performing with The Rinard Family, a country-rock and gospel band well know for putting on a great family show.
