About me:
Are these two boys, born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii, new comers to Hawaii's music scene?.....Negative!!!
Shane Keahi Veincent aka "Dynomite" and Harley Puamaeole Tripp aka "Mr. Tripp" is Pana'ewa!
Growing up, these two boys spent much of their time at the Pana'ewa Park practicing their singing skills. Friends would meet up at the park just to listen as the two of them played their music. Everyone would be at ease just by listening to their good 'ole "Kanikapila Jams."
Shane aka Dyno was blessed with the chance to record an album as a member of the group Sudden Rush. The originators of Na Mele Paleoleo (Hawaiian Rap), Sudden Rush took Hawaiian music to new heights with songs about sovereignty, the Hawaiian nation, and just day to day living on the Hawaiian Islands. The message in Sudden Rush's music informed people of what's really happening on the home front. Today, Sudden Rush has made a tremendous mark for themselves and the local music industry.
As for Harley aka Mr. Tripp, it would only be a matter of time that his talent would be recognized by all. From "Hanabatah" days, Mr. Tripp enjoyed entertaining crowds. He was one of Halau Hula 'O Kahikilaulani's very first students and performed throughout Hawaii. He was also a part of the Waiakea Intermediate School ukulele band that performed at venues such as Disneyland, Sea World, and at weekly shows on board the USS Independence and USS Constitution. Mr. Tripp was a background singer for Sudden Rush and an original member of the Rush Pack. He was featured on numerous compilation CDs until recording his solo debut album entitled "What They Say."
Great music for all occasions, the music of Pana'ewa will last for many years to come. Check it out!
