Album the first is midway done. Things ticking along slowly but surely at Frisbee Studios, released from captivity early next year's the plan. Meanwhile we're on tour again in December, this time supporting Lawrence Arabia which will be CHOIIICE. Also, in the interests of cross-platform popularity, the following link. No pressure other than the heavily implied.

(COU)TOUR. We're putting on our most fashionable clothes, and then all the other clothes we own, because we're heading SOUTH. What better way to defy the dead of winter than with live music? We're playing Christchurch, Lyttleton, and Wellington at the end of July, then Auckland and Ohakune early August. Deets above. We'll be road testing the new songs off the album we're halfway through so come see/hear.

Video for I know your name is all set. My cinematic debut. Upstaged a little by my costar, which is now sitting in our living room. It still freaks me out just a tad every time I come home. Also, we're playing a gig with the Phoenix Foundation at the end of the month, Sunday March 29, at Butterfly Creek. It's a petting zoo. I'm not making this up.

Just realizing quite how banal dates are as headlines. And I do mean 'just realizing', since there's a pattern now and I'm not about to mess with that. Alternate headline: things I talked about that really happened. The EP is now in stores near you, definitely Real Groovies and JB hi fis (actually) but try your luck elsewhere too. The artwork turned out great. Video's done. Well, in Sam's exact words: 'ninety per cent painstaking animation painstakingly completed.' There's a lot of stop-motion in it, which he's animated in just over a week, because he's JUST THAT COMMITTED. All I had to do was get heckled by two fat drunken australians outside the pub we were filming in front of. So. Worth. It. Video up here soon.

It's ALL happening here. Well, not quite 'here', since I'm writing this from Hong Kong on a ten day endofyear retreat from (offline) everyday life. But once the retreating's done the march is ON. The eeep's all but done, and will be yelping into various stores around the country in February, distributed by Border. The first single - Think about it not exploding - is on Bfm as of last week (just for variation's sake, hear it at our Facebook page, search Panther and the Zoo). And the Sam Muirhead (again, no adjective quite fits) will be directing the video for I know your name in late January. We've gigs in late Jan and Feb lined up, which I'll post once they're all confirmed (read: once I check when they actually are.)

Ok. It's time for this profile to shape up or ship out. I'm not a great fan of non-incidental exercise, but I'm even less handy on a boat, so...
BIG NEWS: I've just finished recording for my first E.P. Or, in the spirit of the feeling accompanying this development, my first EEP!
Now comes the mixing / mastering / pedaling / convincing of various alternative authority figures of it and my general worth etc. and so on.
Other great thing: the Henrietta Harris (tried to think of an adjective, but 'the' really just does the trick) is working on the art work and it looks AMAZING. In her words: Oh my stars. The cover is an elaborate visual pun I always wanted to do as a photo but couldn't find a panther suit for. That's all I'm gonna say...
Oh man that thing Alistair was doing last night with the tambourine flicking from the on beat to the off beat in that song with the kinda african tom pattern was crazy cool.
