Biografia

Paolo Ortelli (per gli amici “TORTA”) nasce a Camposampiero (PD) il 20-10-1978. Dopo qualche anno si trasferisce a Bergamo, dove, all’eta’ di 12-13 anni circa, si appassiona al mondo dei DJ’s e della musica dance. Paolo, autodidatta, comincia con le cassettine e le feste per gli amici, fino ad arrivare a suonare in alcuni locali come “aiuto DJ” e, in seguito, DJ vero e proprio.



Nel 1997-98, terminati gli studi, inizia la sua avventura radiofonica, producendo programmi mixati per radio Studio 54, un’emittente locale di Bergamo. Nel 1999 passa a Radio Studio Piu’, nel 2000 a Viva Fm dove, dal 2002 al 2004, conduce “SUPERDANCEFM”, un pazzo programma pomeridiano in cui Paolo riesce ad unire le sue doti di Dj con quelle di umorista, mixando la migliore musica dance con imitazioni e scenette di personaggi a dir poco stravaganti. Contemporaneamente intraprende la carriera di remixer e produttore discografico, sia per conto proprio, sia collaborando con grandi artisti, tra cui spiccano i nomi di Gigi D’agostino, con il quale produce la Hit Dancefloor "Ripassa" e Molella, con cui realizza il rmx di "Mary" dei Gemelli Diversi, vicitore del premio "Miglior remix dell'anno 2003" all'Italian Dance Music Awards.
Nel 2004 e 2005 produce, con Diego Groff (produttore di Eddy Wata)
i brani:
-2 Small Dj's "I Only Wanna Be With You" disco suonatissimo nei club europei e dalle radio dance italiane e
-Lesi Ortestral "Vodka Fisa" che ottiene ottimi risultati a livello mondiale, diventando nei paesi dell'est una sorta di "Icona" popolare.
Esce il suo primo singolo:
-Paolo Ortelli "Candy Toy" cantato dalla bravissima Alyxa, che scala le classifiche dance delle radio italiane ed entra a far parte di numerosissime compilation di rango europee.
Nel 2006, oltre a produrre dischi, Paolo diventa autore di suonerie comiche, interpretate da imitatori e personaggi strampalati, che in breve tempo ottengono un grandissimo riscontro a livello di vendite, sia sui portali dei gestori telefonici, sia sul web. Nel 2007 collabora, con un suo imitatore, alla realizzazione di alcune scenette del programma radiofonico “Sciambola” su Radio Deejay.
Nel 2008 Paolo si lega alla casa discografica DO IT YOURSELF. Arrivano altre releases di rilievo prodotte in collaborazione con il collega/amico Luca De Gregorio con cui forma il gruppo "PAUL & LUKE"che a breve ottiene successo in svariati territori:

Biography

Paolo Ortelli ( for his friends "TORTA") was born in Camposampiero (PD) on 20th October 1978. After few years he moved in Bergamo, where, at about the age of 12-13 yeas old, he developed a special passion for the world of DJ's and dance music. Paolo, self-taught person, began with cassettes and party for his friends, till he reached playing in some clubs as "help-DJ's" and then as real DJ. In 1997-98, after finishing the studies, he started his radio adventure, producing mixed programs for Radio Studio54, a local transmitting station of Bergamo. In 1999 he passed to Radio Studio Più; in 2000 to Radio Viva Fm, where, from 2002 till 2004, he conducted "SUPERDANCEFM", a crazy afternoon program in which Paolo was able to connect his dj's talent with his humorist's qualities, mixing the best dance music with imitations and scenes of eccentric characters and personalities. At the same time he embarked up on his career of remixer and record producer, both alone and with the contribute of great artists, like Gigi D'Agostino (with him he produced the dancefloor hit “Ripassa”) and Molella (with him he realized the remix of “Mary“ by Gemelli Diversi, winner of the prize “Best remix of the year 2003“ at the Italian Dance Music Awards). In 2004 and 2005 he produced, with Diego Groff (producer of Eddy Wata)
the tracks:
-2 Small Dj’s “I Only Wanna Be With You” hit that drew the crowds in the european clubs and dance radios, and
-Lesi Ortestral, “Vodka Fisa” that was a world-wide success, becoming in the Eastern bloc like a popular icon.
Came out his first single : Paolo Ortelli, “Candy Toy”, singed by the great Alyxa, that ascented in the italian dance charts in the radios and went into many european compilations.
In 2006, more than producing records, Paolo became author of funny and comical ringtones, performed by odd and eccentric imitators, that shortly had great success and enormous sales confirmations, both on the Internet gateways of phone managers and on the web.
In 2007 he collaborated, with his imitator, to the realization of some scenes of the radio program "Sciambola" on Radio Deejay.
In 2008, Paolo signs a deal with the record label Do It Yourself. Along with the producer/friend Luca De Gregorio put together the project Paul & Luke which so far spanned a string of releases which get noticed and find the way to success in a few territories.
