Marco and Pierluigi came from many bands experience, they both played Electric Chicago Blues style for many years and their passion for the blues made them met in summer 2005 playing Acoustic Country Blues together.
Influences
They both spend their time listening old stuff from the roots of the blues.
Lightnin' Hopkins, Big Bill Broonzy, Robert Johnson, Bukka White and so on with the best classical Blues singers.
Pierluigi has a strong predilection for the masters of bottleneck blues guitar and Marco's first passion concern on masters of West Side Chicago Blues guitar.

Pierluigi Petricca, classe 1968, inizia la sua carriera nella Papaleg Blues Band con cui si fa conoscere nel centro Italia. Decisiva appare la collaborazione con la cantante irlandese Michelle Landy nel 1997. Da questo momento, l'acquisizione di un linguaggio proprio sulla sei corde, coadiuvato da uno studio degli antichi maestri (Charlie Patton, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Bukka White, Furry Lewis, Mississippi Fred McDowell), gli permette di approfondire la conoscenza sull uso del bottleneck. L incontro con Marco Tinari nel 2002, conclusosi con la nascita del Papaleg Acoustic Duo nel 2005, appare quindi come naturale complemento ad una attiva carriera solista...
Marco Tinari, classe 1978, nasce stilisticamente grazie agli iniziali ascolti che lo vedono approfondire la tradizione del Chicago Blues e del Maxwell Street Sound. Robert Nighthawk, Eddie Taylor, Floyd Jones ed ovviamente Howlin Wolf e Muddy Waters, sono i suoi riferimenti originali. Da questi una attenta ricerca che partendo da Blind Arvella Gray lo fa giungere a Big Bill Broonzy, Son House, Robert Johnson e Ishman Bracey, gli consente di acquisire una perfetta padronanza dei walking bass sulla chitarra acustica. Jumpin Eye Blues Quintet è la prima formazione con la quale affronta l attività live. Nel 2002 incontra Pierluigi Petricca, con il quale nel 2005 fonderà il Papaleg Acoustic Duo...
Papaleg Acoustic Duo, nascono nel 2005, in terra d Abruzzo. Propongono un Delta Acoustic Sound tanto aderente alla tradizione di maestri quali Son House, Bukka White, Big Bill Broonzy e Blind Lemon Jefferson, quanto sensibile agli ultimi cantori quali il compianto Sam Chatmon, nonchè Eddie Cusic, Jimmy Duck Holmes ed David Honeyboy Edwards.
La pregevolezza del loro suono è oltremodo arricchita dalla capacità di implementare elementi stilistici propri dell Hill Country Blues, riferendosi a calibri come David Junior Kimbrough, R. L. Burnside, Mississippi Fred McDowell ed Otha Turner. Si contraddistinguono per l immediatezza dei loro live-set, intensi ed energici come non mai. Il tutto deriva da una lunga attività dal vivo, che li ha visti suonare in ogni dove, dalla strada agli spazi occupati, dai clubs ai teatri. Nel solco della tradizione antica dei songsters di razza, l asprezza della vita del musicista di strada, ha permesso al Papaleg Acoustic Duo di esprimere sonorità proprie legate al roots blues del Mississippi.....
Pierluigi Petricca was born 1968 and has been known in Italy leading the "Papaleg Blues Band". Crucial to the case is the collaboration with the Irish singer Michelle Landy in the 1997.
Since this collaboration he had acquired a unique own way to render his emotions trough the 6 strings of the resonator guitar.
Thanks to his intense studing of the delta blues masters (Charlie Patton, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Bukka White, Furry Lewis, Mississippi Fred McDowell) he acquired the capacity of express himself trough the bottleneck. He meet Marco Tinari in 2002 and they joined into the Papaleg Acoustic Duo in 2005...
Marco Tinari was born in 1978, his style of playing has been influenced by his end-less love for the Maxwell Street Sound. Robert Nighthawk, Eddie Taylor, Floyd Jones, Howlin Wolf and the young Otis Rush, these are his early focuses.
From here on his research of the Delta Blues Masters, discovering the Big Bill Broonzy's walking bass, Robert Johnson lyrics hepled him on the acoustic guitar. After his first experience of the stage as a lead singer in the band "Jumpin' Eye Blues Quintet" he meet Pierluigi Petricca and joined the Papaleg Acoustic Duo in 2005...
As Papaleg Acoustic Duo, since 2005 they offer a classic delta blues sound trying to express their blues in respect of the blues masters' tradition (Son House, Bukka White, Big Bill Broonzy e Blind Lemon Jefferson) and listening from the last of the blues shouters, Eddie Cusic, Jimmy Duck Holmes ed David Honeyboy Edwards. They perform powerful live-sets thanks to an extensive touring activities from theatres to street corners, from squatted building to blues festivals.
