UPDATE: New website and DVD coming! The DVD is a compilation of all the film scores we have made for Madcat and Converse, also a slide show of March 3rd GO at Varnish Gallery, and a music video by Monster.
Campbell and Dr. Sleep combine their love for soundtracks, electronic music, sampling, found sounds, vintage synthesizers, drum machines, ambiance, and 70s rock to make lush atmospheric soundscapes that are both fragile and anthemic.
In the beginning, Cooper Bombardier requested the use of our music as a backdrop to his spokenword for his national tour. I
n the Summer of 2004 we won a Converse ad contest with two friends and filmmakers. For that project, we created a short 32-second score for a hand-etched film (the artist hand-etched all 400-plus frames with a microscope and Exacto knife).
From there, we were approached by the MadCat Film Festival to do an original score to French feminist director Germaine Dulac's 1923 narrative silent film, "The Smiling Madame Beudet." In 2005, we were approached by Madcat again, this time to score live sound to experiment films by Emily Richardson ("Redshift") and Rose Lowder ("Bouquets 1-10").
The cassette tape and cd of these recordings was released Oct. 20.
In Fall 2005 we went on The Heartland tour with Katastrophe from San Francisco to Austin then up to Minneapolis for HOMOCORE.
In March of 2006 We were asked to be in Go! (a collaborative installation art project (check them out on myspace). We were teamed up with writer Kevin Hobson and artist Francie Miller, the one time event was on March 3rd at Varnish Gallery.
Our installation concept was "Neither Here, Nor There." Our soundscape for this event combines found sound samples and sampled acoustic space, the inbetween parts of recordings and music fragments. We produced a 11 minute loop which is called "Neither Here" and also a 3 minute darker version with a moog prodigy called "Nor There", that was performed live.
Many of our shows we perform with a live artist, the picture of the projection is from our December 2005 show with The Notes from Tuscon (check them out....so beautiful) where we had Laurel Stewart drawing live to our set.

Let me know if you need any extra help polishing your sound. I'm a one man operation and will respond to you personally. I have an offer where I'll mix and master one of your previously recorded tracks for free to show you what I can do - no strings attached. You'd be surprised what the right pair of ears can do. Get your stuff recorded somewhere else if you must, but save the mixing/mastering. You just might end up paying less for more. Click here for more info, and check out what other bands have said in my comment section!!

jess and i wanted to come see you and katastrophe in kc last night, but we both got off work at 6 and i really don't think we would have made it. but we wanted to.
