A little while ago we popped by Toro Magazines office and played our new song Trouble for them. The song has changed a little since then, and the last we played it live Gene Simmons told us he liked it. Here is the footage from our Toro visit.

It is often hard to pinpoint specific influences. Instead, we will dedicate this section of the page to featuring bands we like. These may be well known or unknown bands. If there is a band you think we will like, feel free to send us a message about them. We're always up for hearing good music.
Library Voices
One of the best parts about touring is the chance to meet really great bands on the road. We played Winnipeg recently and had the honour of sharing the stage with Library Voices. They're getting ready to release their first full length album in the spring, and currently have an EP under their collective belts - Hunting Ghosts. This six song EP has some of my favorite songs they performed that night, including Step off the Map & Float, and the title track, Hunting Ghosts. The record is great, and live, they bring these songs to a whole new level. They're energy is incredibly infectious - I think you might have to to see them to really get it. Word is, they might be touring parts of Canada in February. Keep your eyes peeled.
Here is one of my favorite songs from that night, Drinking Games.
Paper Lions are composed of ten time East Coast Music award nominated artists John MacPhee, Rob
MacPhee, Colin Buchanan, and David Cyrus MacDonald. They have performed for tens of thousands
of people, earning critical acclaim and regional and national awards including Touring Artist of the
Year from the Canadian Arts Presenters Organization (2007) and Pop Recording of the Year from the
East Coast Music Awards (2005).
Paper Lions self titled 2007 album was produced by Danny Blume of Grammy award winning team
Good and Evil. The eleven song record spans eras of influence, shamelessly evoking the work of the
bands musical mentors; The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Police, Queen, Michael Jackson, The Shins,
Sufjan Stevens. It crosses genre lines as though they don't exist, with tracks incorporating classic rock,
pop, folk, blues, and barber shop.
Paper Lions performed over 250 shows in 2007 alone. Their live show has been compared to the
Police on speed. A turn at The Warped Tour in the summer of 2007 spawned this review from
Vancouvers premiere arts magazine, the Georgia Strait;
"... the lucky few that wandered over to the unenviable Hot Topic stage, at the other end of the T-Bird
field, were treated to a performance by Prince Edward Island's Paper Lions, a quartet playing its first Warped gig. Sounding like Franz Ferdinand and moving
like the Talking Heads, this group put on a real show, complete with fantastic tunes and stage presence,
and enough charisma to draw more than 300 fans by the end of its too-short time on stage... you
couldn't help but feel that their kind of magic was the true reason to go to Warped - the off chance that
you might discover something great."

Yeah, i think a lot of people didn't know what to expect. I just remember this old lady sitting in front of me rocking it with her hands in the air, it was hilarious. Yeah it would be awsome to see you guys preform again! I'm living in Nanaimo now, going to university. I guess i missed you guys when you were here! So disappointed. I'm sure you'll be around again at some point. If not here, maybe Van. Yeah i joined the group. You guys sound great, makes me proud that you're from Canada :)
Yeah, well i really just came onto MySpace for the music, haha, but i guess i should customize my profile and all that jazz. I saw you guys in Yellowknife, maybe 2 years ago when you were still 'Chucky Danger Band.' I was totally into the music, you guys pretty much blew my mind. What brought about the name change?
