Click the play button to watch me cut a Silhouette in this quick and informative video.
My name is Kathryn Flocken and I am a professional Silhouette Artist. I have been making hand-cut Silhouette portraits since 1989, and have worked throughout Central Florida's major theme parks. I travel all over the country cutting Silhouettes at special events, and have also been featured cutting Silhouettes on CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood.
It would be my pleasure to make Silhouette portraits of you, your children, and even your pets! You can see loads of silhouette samples in my photo galleries, so be sure to go have a look. (If you aren't a member of MySpace, no worries! Just watch the slide show above!)
Silhouettes make a timeless and unique keepsake, and you will always receive 3 copies of the artwork...perfect for gift giving!
To order, just click on my blog section above. Print and fill out the easy form, and mail it to me along with your photos. You will receive your Silhouettes within about two to three weeks.
You can have a custom silhouette made from a photo like this. This is also a PERFECT example of a right profile photo. Make sure the nose is pointing this way ----> just like the photo above. Be sure to show ALL of the head, ALL of the hair, and NO smiles! A plain background like this is a plus! Silhouettes are now available in larger sizes and colors! Ask for the traditional 5x7, or new 8x10 and 11x14 inches! Custom
For Silhouette cutting at your special event, please go to www.paperportraits.com for more information. I can do 100 or more portraits in four hours!
Not much space is needed for Silhouettes at your special event. Tech requirements are surprisingly simple! I just need a small draped table, two chairs of the same height, and a light (or ambient light) to work by.
Colorful Silhouettes make for a fun special event!

Silhouettes at Wedding Receptions make a classy party favor for your Guests to bring home. Not only did this Bride and Groom have me cut Silhouettes at their reception, they even had their pastry chef turn the happy couple's Silhouette into edible cake toppers!

Kathryn, It's been a while, hope things are fine, but I have a favor to ask you: I don’t know how this happened but I somehow got nominated for this... how metal - I know, but here ya go anyways, feel like voting for this metalhead? hehe (intructions on how are on my Profile) ...and - if you could mobilize & rev up some of your fellow VOTER forces, that would be way cool, cuz I gotta win! (2nd place is not good!) :) Thanx a bunch! PS. in case you'd be interesed - check it out, I finally gave in ...you can follow me around on www.Twitter.com/ArmandVio7 Ciao for now, - Armand
Your husband did a marvelous job revamping your website! It's more interactive and easy to breeze thru. With the addition of more photos, articles, gift ideas, your video and blog, I believe your new site will introduce the world of silhouettes to a much wider audience then ever before! Congrats, Kathy.
I was pleasantly surprised by your youtube video. It is very well done and quite informative! You make the art of cutting silhouettes look so easy, but it's clear you have a tremendous talent and skill in this arena.
Your book looks informative too. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Visit my colour photos and, if you like, leave me a comment to know your opinion.
Also you can visit the black&white myspace for my film photos, just click on this link http://myspace. com/borjaap_whiteblack or click on the image below.
Kathy, thanks so much for providing me with the mounting boards (and for the correct change, which I will apply towards gas to the event...Sanford's a fair piece from Lakeland)! It's always a pleasure doing business with you. ;)
Hello again! I've been redesigning my profile (I think this new one is somewhat simpler but much more stylish) and I've finally got round to giving you a turn in my top eight, in return for the time I spent in yours (and while I still haven't quite found quite enough of an excuse to buy your book, I still hope to so sometime soon). I also see that you've discovered Agata Kawa; I did so just earlier today! Her illustrations are close to being my perfect style (other than silhouettes, of course). The absolute most perfect illustrative style that I've ever seen, however, is that of this Nobel prize which I saw on display. I think it's Russian (as it was awarded to a Russian poet and custom-made for them), though the text is in Swedish as it's the Swedish Academy which presents the Nobel prizes. My photographs, taken through glass, don't it justice but they are all I have of it.
I've also been meaning to tell you and other silhouette fans here that another silhouette film, Michel Ocelot's Princes and Princesses is available on domestic DVD-Video in the USA. This is the cover of it, along with that of another Ocelot film which the same distributor released alongside it (my current default picture is a photograph of two of the puppets used in it).
And lastly, I don't suppose you've heard of Ishizuka Atsuko, another favourite animator and illustrator of mine? Both Agata Kawa's and your own colour artworks remind of the music videos she directed "Tsuki no Waltz" and "Sen no Hana Sen no Sora," both of which you may be able to find online.
Hi Kathryn, Thanks for your message, glad you like the track! Hope to see you if we are over your way - maybe next year, watch this space! Best wishes, Salsa Celtica
