Check Out Nivla & P.Oberoi's performance on January 25, 2007 at Webster Hall!!
....
Inspired by beautiful traditional vocals from India and stimulating modern beats, P. Oberoi has developed his sound through the global fusion of international music. He is an aspiring singer who hails from the melting pot of this world, New York City. Through combination of music that he has heard and seen, he aims to deliver a sound that is reminiscent of the great traditional vocalists from the past while maintaining a freshness for a new generation of music lovers. His particular musical interests include folk (punjabi), hindi, and R&B singing.
Currently under Soul Tap Records, P. Oberoi is humbled to be working with talented artists including Nivla and RVM Sounds. Check out Nivla and P.Oberoi's breakthrough track entitled "Be Easy (Koi Na)". It is currently featured on Nike Rockstars Workout CD & TIME Music's latest Punjabi Compilation CD titled Party In Punjab.
P. Oberoi started developing his sound at the age of 17 and further progressed his singing ability by creating one of the first co-ed asian a cappela teams in North America: The Rutgers Asian A'Capella Group (R.A.A.G.). Being with Raag for almost 4 years, he had the opportunity to perform in front of some of the premier universities on the east coast.
Parag furthered his folk singing abilities as a vocalist for the Rutgers Bhangra Team (RU) and THE Bhangra Team (TBT). With the RU Bhangra team and TBT, Parag has gained a wider understanding of music and elements of performance by singing in front of packed houses in Boston, South Beach, New York City, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Buffalo, and all over New Jersey.
