DECEMBER: TIME TO GET IN THE MOOD FOR HOLIDAY MOVIES!

NOTE: Due to unannounced release dates, this article will be updated through out this movie discussing any new films that we receive with their movie trailers. Below, illustrates the are possible releases.

Merry Christmas everyone one! We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving break. We definitely did! We appreciate everyone coming to the cinema on Thanksgiving and weekend to spend your break with us. Several movies were in high demand, Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Blind Side, Old Dogs, and 2012 , as November was coming to a wrap . But now it is time to check out the December movies as more Holiday blockbusters continue to entertain us. Before discussing the new December films, we want to give a big shout out to Emerson Inc., NEA Clinic, Teleflora, Anchor Packaging Inc., FAMILY LIFE Ministries, and several schools who booked dates for their Christmas showings. They are a big help with families who don't have the chance to come to the cinema to enjoy a film together. Now, we can start discussing the movies.

The first weekend of premieres the Christmas film, Everybody's Fine. The movie is a drama/comedy by Miramax. The main cast includes Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, and Sam Rockwell. A widower who realized his only connection to his family was through his wife sets off on an impromptu road trip to reunite with each of his grown children. The story is heartwarming and should enjoyable to watch for anyone who has been in this predicament with their families. This is definitely you typical Christmas film, such as Santa Clause. Critics are claming that its good. For adults who want get away from kids, then Everybody's Fine is the perfect candidate for older audiences who want to see a Christmas film.

Opening December 11, is Walt Disney's Classic 2-D film, The Princess and the Frog. It is about a fairy tale centered on a young girl named Princess Tiana who lives in New Orleans' French Quarter during the Jazz Age. The movie's main cast are upcoming actors, and the supporting roles are more known. These actors/actresses include: Jenifer Lewis, Oprah Winfrey, Terrance Howard, and John Goodman. We think many fans wanted to see another classic Disney film before Pixar started using 3-D technology, and Disney Studios heard loud and clear. The G-rated film is getting good reviews and anyone who loved some of Disney's best work, such as Bambi, Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, and Aladdin should be very happy with the outcome.

The next week releases two films, Avatar and Did You Hear About the Morgans?. James Cameron is finally back with highly anticipated movie, Avatar. Cameron writes and directed this film. With a resume like his (Titanic, Aliens, and Terminator 2), there is a really good chance that this movie won't suck. Some very lucky people earlier that this year got check out the film and special effects before Avatar was finished shooting, and were astounded how amazing the film looked. We know he has done a lot of refinement as 20th Century Fox has gave Cameron over 200 million dollars to do this film right. The movie stars Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation) as Jake Sully a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program, which will enable him to walk. Jake travels to Pandora, a lush jungle-covered extraterrestrial moon filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying. Pandora is also home to the Navi, a sentient humanoid race that are more physically capable than humans, although considered primitive. Standing three meters tall, with tails and sparkling blue skin, the Navi live in harmony with their unspoiled world. As humans encroach deeper into Pandora's forests in search of valuable minerals, the Navi unleash their formidable warrior abilities to defend their threatened existence. Jake has unwittingly been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Navi hybrids known as Avatars. The Avatars are living, breathing bodies that are controlled by a human "driver" through a technology that links the driver's mind to their Avatar body. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake can be whole once again. Sent deep into Pandora's jungles as a scout for the soldiers that will follow, Jake encounters many of Pandora's beauties and dangers. There he meets a young Navi female, Neytiri, whose beauty is only matched by her ferocity in battle. Over time, Jake integrates himself into Neytiri's clan, and begins to fall in love with her. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth, and the Navi, forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.

The other movie releasing December 18 is Did You Hear About the Morgans?. The romantic comedy stars Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex and the City) and Hugh Grant (Music and Lyrics). In New York City, an estranged couple (Parker and Grant) who witness a murder are relocated to small-town Wyoming as part of a witness-protection program. The film has a great potential to be another big hit like the The Proposal did this pas summer.

A movie being released two days before Christmas is Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squekel. After having success two years ago with the original film, 20th Century Fox knew that the old franchise still could entertain a new generation of children. Jason Lee plays Dave again in the film. Their new story is about pop sensations Alvin, Simon and Theodore end up in the care of Dave Seville's twenty-something nephew Toby. The boys must put aside music superstardom to return to school, and are tasked with saving the school's music program by winning the $25,000 prize in a battle of the bands. But the Chipmunks unexpectedly meet their match in three singing chipmunks known as The Chipettes -– Brittany, Eleanor and Jeanette. Romantic and musical sparks are ignited when the Chipmunks and Chipettes square off. This movie is a great choice for parents and their children for their Christmas break. They was written to entertain all age groups.

The weekend of December opening Friday, December 25 are It's Complicated and Sherlock Holmes. The first movie mentioned (It's Complicated) stars Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, and Steve Martin. The romantic comedy is written and directed by Nancy Meyers who has done Somethings Gotta Give and The Holiday. The movie is about two men vie for the affection of a woman. Streep's character is dealing with empty-nest syndrome who is torn between her ex-husband (Baldwin) and a male friend (Martin). Parrish plays Streeps youngest child, who is graduating from college and is about to head to the big city. Kazan is the middle child, who is about to move to Los Angeles and has a hard time dealing with the possibility of her parents reuniting. Bell plays Baldwins young wife, who is determined to have a child with him. This film is a great selection for adult women, since it is Rated R.

The other film being released on Christmas Day is Sherlock Holmes. The movie is directed by Guy Richie (Madonna's former husband) and stars Robert Downy Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, and Mark Strong. The adventure movie is about Detective Sherlock Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson(Law) engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis(Strong) whose plot is a threat to all of England. The film looks great based on the footage we have seen. We do not doubt that Sherlock Holmes will be a crowd pleasure and possibly sparking a sequel. Also, Iron Man 2 is coming out in May 2010, and the director, John Favreau, gave the public a hint that the first trailer for his super-hero movie could be released with Sherlock Holmes. We will just have to wait and see.

That's all for now as we meeting the end of the 2009 films. We look forward to see who are big Holiday blockbuster and Academy-Award nominators. Give us some feedback and let us know who you think will do well in these categories. We hope you enjoy Christmas break!
