About Parakletos

In 2004 Rivel Records released this debut symphonic black metal project by Smælek on vocals, guitars, keyboards, and bass and Ljungeld on guitars, keyboards, drum/bass programming, and backing vocals. Later on Randall Barres (drums) and Susanna Witting (Backing Vocals) joined the band. Not so long afterwards a remake recording of the song "Se Guds Lamm" had been done.
In essence, “Offerlammets Makt” is a conceptual album based on the life, brutal death, and shrouded mystery of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Tight production, powerful melodies, enchanting atmospheres, and ultra-hard driving drums layered with haunting keyboards and lightening-quick guitar riffs, make this an unforgettable release. The vocals growl low and ascend to mystery-laden heights telling of eternal destiny, promise, and wonder.

You English-minded metal folks should not fear this production totally done in their native tongue (Swedish) as it is a great piece of atmospheric black metal appealing to fans of Dimmu Borgir, Antestor, Cradle of Filth, Crimson Moonlight, Vaakevandring, Admonish, Seregost, and Gaoth Anair. The band’s combination of aggressive speed, black metal, and transitional epiphanies with keyboards and the duel vocals (male and female) are fantastic! This album has many noteworthy songs, possibly the best ones being “Se Guds Lamm”, "Frestelsen", and "I Denna Morka Timma". Do not deny yourself this album! Check Parakletos out! And as many of us do hope, our fears can be relieved as there IS another album in the making!
