The Historic Paramount Theatre in Abilene, Texas has presented a unique series of classic, foreign, independent and seldom-seen films since 1983. These films screen monthly, one weekend a month. Special event films in October and December bring the total series presentations to 14. Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for students, seniors, military and children.
The Paramount is a movie palace, built by architect David Castle and completed in 1930. Fully restored in 1986, the theatre was also renovated to accomodate live performances as well. Today it is a multi-purpose venue, home to the Paramount Film Series, Paramount Productions, concerts, opera, ballet, musical thearte, private events and more.
