PARAMOUNT formed in 2002 while the band members were students at UCLA (where they studied things like taxidermy, civil engineering, and museum studies). This three-piece act plays fast-paced rock; some people call it garage rock, some people might say pop rock. Drawing on influences like (early) Beatles, the Kinks, and more contemporary acts like the Strokes and (really early) Weezer (seriously just the first two Weezer albums, we swear), PARAMOUNT puts on an energetic live show and plays often around the L.A. area.
PARAMOUNT has been played on (the sadly defunct) Indie 103.1, and on Rodney Bingenheimer's show on LA's 106.7 KROQ (SWEET!). One of the band's songs, WHAT YOU GOT COMIN', was featured in the Stephen Colbert-penned movie, "Strangers With Candy," which was released nationwide July 2006. Go order it on Showtime OnDemand, we get paid each time you do.
PARAMOUNT has recorded three EPs with producer Matt Beckley and a debut LP. Most recently, the band put out the 4-song EP, FIFTEEN MINUTES LATE, in January 2009. You can buy it by clicking above, so do it now.
The band released LATE NIGHTS BRAKE LIGHTS, its 14-track debut album, in October 2006. What was the band doing from Oct. 2006 to Jan. 2009, you might ask? Besides making awesome new music? Learning to make a killer souffle.
The band is recording a new EP in early 2010 but until that is out, satisfy your fix: buy FIFTEEN MINUTES LATE on iTunes by clicking here.
