The cd features fantastic performances by Tony Briscoe ..board, Sol Ahmed on double bass and Damon Howles on drums. The CD was recorded by Lee Goodall at the state of the art Oakfield Studios in Cardiff. The CD costs £6 including package and postage
Paraty is led by Norma Daykin, alto sax player and composer. They play original compositions and arrangements, from tropical dance grooves through to meditative soundscapes. Norma is well known as sax player with acoustic singer songwriter Lorraine Ayensu. Her compositions have been performed by leading jazz musicians, inlcuding a commissioned piece for the London Jazz Festival 2007, which was performed by the Guildhall Big Band with Jiggs Whigham on trombone The band are named in tribute to legendary Afro-Brazilian jazz pianist Don Pullen. The band play in various combinations from quartet to octet and more and the full line up is a dazzling combination of Bristol talent.
