This four track sampler CD features original compositions and arrangements of latin and jazz tunes by alto sax player and composer Norma Daykin. The cd features fantastic performances by Tony Briscoe on Keyboard, Sol Ahmed on double bass and Damon Howles on drums. The CD was recorded by Lee Goodall at the state of the art Oakfield Studios in Cardiff. The CD costs £6 including package and postage

About Paraty

Paraty is led by Norma Daykin, alto sax player and composer. They play original compositions and arrangements spanning tropical dance grooves through to meditative soundscapes. The full line up is a dazzling combination of Bristol talent. Norma is well known as sax player with acoustic singer songwriter Lorraine Ayensu and as composer of big band music performed by East Bristol Jazz Orchestra. Norma founded Paraty, whose name is a tribute to legendary Afro-Brazilian jazz pianist Don Pullen, after completing postgraduate studies in jazz and contemporary music composition at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. The full band line up includes: Emily Preston (soprano sax); Norma Daykin (alto sax); Laura Phillips (tenor sax); Sav Pacini (trombone); Tony Briscoe (piano); Knud Stuwe (guitar); Sol Ahmed (double bass); Damon Howles (drums). A small band line up can be offered if needed.

We had a very successful gig at the Bristol Jazz Society at the White Horse in Bedminster, Bristol on Thursday, and we have a video of the second set. Check it out on our page.
