[She] Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams. --W.B. Yeats

Heroes
What is a true hero?
Seeing as how flying around in a cape is hardly an indicator of heroism one way or the other, and also seeing as how our culture in general picks really stupid people to idealize, I wanted to identify what I believe a hero is really made of and bestow the title accordingly upon those few individuals who actually deserve it.
I see heroic qualities in those who truly put others first, those who earnestly seek the truth (for they are the ones that find it), those who have overcome adversity and those who inspire others to, and those who endeavor to make the world a better place.
-People are flawed, but I look up to a few who possess the above qualities, who do not constantly overestimate themselves, and whose aim in life is to become better off for having lived each passing day. Among them are...
Socrates, the pioneer of the quest for wisdom and truth; and Jesus Christ, who personified selfless love and taught others to follow in his footsteps. Both of these men walked as they talked, and both were willing to die for their causes--as both did. John Mark Reynolds, a philosopher and teacher of today, and a follower of both Jesus and Socrates; he should be far more well-known than he is.
My very good friend Nate, who has saved me in more ways than he'll possibly ever realize.
Along those same lines, my very good friend Destiny, who is an incredible person, and I am indubitably better for having known her.
My little brother Austin, who I'm proud of for going through so much and never giving up on making it make him awesome. Also, he's brilliant...and there's a very good chance he'll change the world.
And finally, one who means more to me than he probably knows: Eric Toles; remember that, it will be a household name one day. "Admire" seems like far too flimsy a word to convey my sentiments on all he has overcome and the amazing man he continues to become. And as if that wasn't enough, he too has saved me more times than I can count, which means more than I am capable of expressing.
...I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to know any, and especially all, of these individuals (with, obviously, the exception of the first two, as regrettably they stopped walking this earth long before I arrived).
I really like:
(1) bubble wrap (2) orange juice (3) snow
(4) magic (5) asymmetry (6) laughing
(7) pyrotechnics (8) languages (9) inspiration
(10) even numbers (11) tea (12) surprises
I have many quirks. I am fascinated by other peoples' quirks.
I talk really fast.
I am easily distracted by shiny objects.
I will alwayskeep secrets, promises, and letters.
I am a philosopher.
I love to run through pouring rain barefoot, and look at the stars.
I'm kind of a Star Wars nerd.
I find cupcakes ridiculously fun to eat.
Half of my life is music. It brings me unspeakable happiness.
I play contact sports and love it.
I still wish I could fly. I will be a pilot someday.
Love is all I live for, and I will fight for it with everything I have.
I do happy dances in my head when I hear words which I find aesthetically pleasing.
I moonlight as a movie buff. True story.
I am a certifiably nocturnal insomniac. Ergo, I never sleep.
I like dogs infinitely better than cats.
When I grow up, I'm going to change the world.
Psychology greatly intrigues me.
I am often quite cynical, but I am secretly an idealist.
I've never understood the word "no."
Spontaneity makes me happy.
I'm a thrill seeker. I go on adventures.
I absolutely love being in the water. I am probably part fish.
I quest for truthrelentlessly.
I will literally do anything for those I care about.
I am not a conformist. I am not a nonconformist.
I liveoutside of the box.
I am in a constant state of becoming.
Who I'd like to meet: Socrates, I wish he wasn't dead. The Knights Who 'Til Recently Said Ni. Cool people, real people, and people who are ninjas. And...

I can't, for the life of me, find Renee's (TWLOHA-affiliated?) MySpace. I love reading her blogs, and I went to try to find her via Trish(?) on TWLOHA's profile, but they had to rearrange their Top friends, and there's no way I'd find either by digging through the list. Well, I could, but it'd take a few days. Do you, perchance, know the link? Oh yeah - I was browsing your other blog and even tried looking her up on Google, to no avail.
I am still alive. I've just been really busy.....avoiding myspace. I'm glad to hear that my message has been taking up space in your voicemail mailbox (that was awkeward to type). Perhaps one day when you decide you miss the melodious sound of my voice you'll listent to it....but I'm not holding my breath. I think I'll call you this weekend, I'll probably screw up the time thing again and wake you up in the middle of a dream where you have a lot of money or a lot of babies. Just FYI, I'm going to Minnesota this summer (specifically at the end of June), perhaps we'll run into each other by accident, but I would much rather it be on purpose. I have work in less than 5 hours. Time to sleep.
the second we attempt to make plans my whole world has to tip on the side (even though it really doesnt have one...) im really sorry about the lack of plan making, but as of friday night im free forever. well, until i go to college...
Hey you. With the limbs. Stuff has been moderately interesting. I would go into detail, but you know that I'm not one for internet communication. I would ask how you have been, but I intend to call you soon and I'll just ask then. I was going to call you today (technically yesterday), but it was already midnight where you are, so I thought it best to refrain from such activities. Talk to you soon.
WHOA, you comment column is on the OTHER side. crazy. I have two because one is my main one, and other other one I made mostly just to post videos from Haiti on when I went this last time.
