Born in Manizales Colombia, Daniel “Parcero” Bermudez became influenced by the urban movement at a very young age. Unique style of lyrics and catchy complementary beats was the only thing he needed to identify himself with this genre of music. As a lyricist, he started by writing, putting his thoughts out there in different forms, but basically everything went on that paper, on that pad. Always fighting for a better life and keeping up with the struggle presented plenty of memories, experiences, thoughts, and opinions that with time shaped up his mind as an artist.
Arriving to the United States at age 14, he quickly adapted to the culture and ways and quickly adopted that New York state of mind. Responsibilities came along and he found himself doing whatever he could to help his single mom and family get by. At a very young age he took part of the hard-working immigrant life, with the American dream present in his mind. With music as part of him, it became a big way of expression and also a way to deal with reality. As time went on all the writings and thoughts put together became songs and freestyles.
He never thought of his music as something that would reach an audience or get out there, until it started coming all together due to the love for it. Many obstacles came along, but as a person that does not center his life around problems and slip ups, “no” was never an answer and strength built through the years helped him get through. Discussing problems and complaining was never part of him. Music became the main weapon to reflect life… to reflect him. Everything is real.
He spent many years in his proclaimed “second home” New York, where he perfected his flow and worked on getting better. He then moved to the state of Florida, where he left a mark by networking and getting involved in songs with artists from the area, until finally realizing that not only his people but his city was calling back. Returning to NY October of 2007, Parcero then focused on his music 24/7. He quickly settled down, and started recording. It became a 24 hour seven day a week grind. Since then he’s been on it, exposing his skills, and basically doing his thing…. Arrazando.
I give you my life, lo que yo se, lo que yo vivo, de donde vengo, y mas importante… para donde voy. You can love it, you can hate it, but at the end of the day as an artist you need to learn how to take both energies and make fuel out of them to do one thing and one thing only…… push yourself
