Parking Lot Bright is music made from memory.
This memory log was started some years ago.
Sometime around 2002 this little time capsule of musical ideas came to life, but with a different name.
'New Years Resolution'
I recorded a really lo-fi album on my crappy old computer back then and sold a few copies of the CD at Record Exchange in Lynchburg, VA
Played a couple of shows around Bedford. Fun times.
Then I got away for a while. College. Lived life a little. Started experimenting. Started growing up too fast.
The songs I was writing started to actually mean something to me. I was actually sorta proud of some of them. At this time everything was still pretty much just me and the acoustic.
Then I was in 'Last Second Heroes' for a while which was amaaaaazzzing. WE WILL RETURN! someday, someway....
So Parking Lot Bright was put on the backburner for awhile. Let them ideas simmer.
'LSH' had to break up because of distance and the pressure of society forcing us to keep us busy people with busy lives.
A few months after returning from college and working at the YMCA I was able to afford a used multi-track recorder on e-bay.
This expanded the musical possibilities incredibly. Since then I've been trying to experiment and add new things as much as I can.
In recent months I've started adding beats and other types or percussion/sounds to my songs.
This has been a lot of fun and I'm eager to learn more as I continue to tweak with my songs
Hope ya like em! If ya do, please try and spread the word. Thankssss.
-Kenny
NEW BANNER!!
Just copy and paste all the text in the box into any forum or bulletin online.
The sound of that is perfection. :) TTTTT. Well I'm off monday, tuesday, and the rest of the week. So we can get ourselves together one or more of those days. Also trying to garnish myself a job at a local arts and crafts store. Get enough money together to afford myself an instrument. Can you know how easily we could put apart an acoustic setlist ideal for showing off! It would be so smooth! I'll let you hear some of my new crumbs too.
well I havent got on the band profile in awhile, we're probably going to record tomorrow. and kenny one thing that really stands out about your music is your lyrics, you're way beyond anything any of us could ever write. you seriously are a band I consistantly listen to. you've got something too man. and btw nice nice nice NICE photography. and beard haha.
haha rad man. we have some, an ep but its nothing all that good. sw is my top friend so you can give it a listen there. I might try doing another band too, I'm having lots of ideas and one of our members is in hawaii, so we can't do anything <_<
which also sorta reminds me, my band static wave, is going to be making an album soon. hopefully, it'll be good. I'm hoping we can get some publisism =P. I'm in the process of making a list of other bands or unsigned acts that we support, and I'm hoping I can include Parking Lot Bright and Last Second Heroes, do you mind?
I want to hear the musicks from the other night man. Wait, did we record? I can't even know. And apparently that whole episode I had was an overdose. My head has been boiling space ever since.
Hmm. Well I know Snocap is kinda annoying with their fees; it seems like you can't really make any money with them. I don't know if you have anything to print CD's with yet? Did last Second Heros ever sell actual disks, because I can't remember =P butif you guys did I'd say do it the way you did then, and just do anything you can to promote the release. I'll start a street team! =D And don't think I won't. I'll tell everyone to buy the CD from wherever you might be selling it. Ooh, I can't wait. I'll help in any way I can!
Hey yeah brother, thank you for the kind tunes! I'm working ..ing up this demo LP, due out in mid-February. Sweet action! If you get any word on anywhere to play a show, let me know. I'll do it in a heartbeat!
I'm eargerly anticipating the new album! Like seriously, you have no idea. I know it's been a few years in the making, but I LOVE the way things are shaping up. Keep making amazing music, Kenny!
Thank you so much man. That really means a lot. We'd love to play a show with you sometime. Just let us know what you're up to! Thanks again and happy New Year! -Robbie
dude man...for serious...we need to lay some tracks down or something. I'm tired of playing with people just because. I like making songs, that's were the fun is!
God I love you Kenny! I got goosebumps listening to your jams today. I wish Nix...could provide the honesty and soulfulness PLB gives me. You are a true artist and you have our support and love for eternity. Please do some shows with us.
Hey my lovely Kenney! I wanted to let you know that we posted a new song called Choker. Check it out. We have our whole demo as it is for now, but it all still needs mix down!
