Compass Records has developed a justifiably fine reputation for good sounding recordings. 10 certainly lives up to Compass' high sonic standards. Paul McGeechan of MasterCD does a superlative job roping together into a cohesive sonic whole recordings from three different studios made over a six-year period. The sound is natural and relaxed with great clarity and realistic ambience.

Bookmarks is the debut studio album from 26 year old Scottish singer/songwriter Roddy Hart, released in the UK in May 2006 on Vertical Records. Written and produced by Roddy co-produced with Paul McGeechan, it features guest performances from legendary US singer Kris Kristofferson, Scotland's very own Eddi Reader, and members of the Trashcan Sinatras, amongst others.

Sometimes it’s not clear how a whole bunch of music comes about, only in retrospect you find out the common creative link. Park Lane Studio of Glasgow is such an unsung catalyst, and now bands who spawned their early work there are ready to pay tribute. The Bluebells, Texas, Primal Scream, Del Amitri, Deacon Blue, The Daintees, Hipsway, Gun and Love and Money are just some of the many 80’s Scottish scene bands featured – and mostly with unreleased Park Lane demos!

PAOLO Nutini chose Scotland over the USA to make the video for his new single New Shoes.
Brits nominee Paolo turned down the opportunity to film his latest promo in New York so he could feel more at home for the shoot in the southside of Glasgow, round the corner from the famous Park Lane studios where he recorded his early songs.

Park Lane is a superbly designed creative enviroment.
The 650 sq.ft. (60 sq.m) playing area contains several specialised acoustic zones. A vaulted ceiling finished in Canadian maple contributes to the unique ambience that enables natural live recordings to be captured. The adjacent control was refurbished Jan 2006 and equipped with a Digidesign HD system. At this point surround monitoring was also included.
In July of 2008 a MTA-980 console was installed this was designed by Malcolm Toft (Trident etc).
Radiohead used there own series 980 to record "o.k computer"
