Besides getting one of these books swirling around in my head actually written - hard to do when I'm driving all time time - my goal in life is to share the beauty, magic and healing of bellydance with all women. This dance literally saved my life. My instructor showed up just when I needed her, and bellydance has helped with physical problems, depression, self-esteem and confidence. Two back surgeries and medical malpractice that I'm told I can't sue for have left me with chronic pain and permanent nerve damage. Sometimes my shimmy gets stuck! but I shudder to think about what kind of shape I'd be in if I hadn't responded to the call to The Hippie Shack......Most of all, I love my body now, especially the belly that's bothered me all my life. I love to make it shake - and the more womanly the belly, more beautiful the belly roll. I'm honored to be used by the Goddess as an example to other women. One of our very young dancers recently said to me, "I'm so glad you're here. I watch you, and I'm realize that getting old is nothing to be afraid of." I know it sounds wierd at first, but it's one of the greatest compliments I've ever received and affirms why I'm here. I'm so inspired by women of all ages, shapes and sizes who are letting the Goddess dance. The underlined links on this page will take you to some great links about bellydance and my other interests.

I was visiting my relatives on Vancouver Island and on the way back to Vancouver I fell down a few cement stairs in the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal. I tried to stop the fall with my hand and ended up tearing the ligaments in my thumb and scraping the front of both chins. I now have a cast on my hand and may need surgery. It slowed down my typing but other than that I am not affected by it. There is no pain and if there happens to be pain I have a prescription for Tylanol 3s!
So if I don't write often it's not because I am ignoring you - I am just taking it easy.
